Today I’m excited to announce that we’ve raised $14M from Khosla Ventures, Construct Capital, and Bling Capital, bringing our total funding to $20M, to build what creative teams have needed for a long time: a single, intelligent file system that actually works.
In the last decade, file systems have largely stayed the same. Creative teams deal with files scattered across storage silos, DAMs, review tools, archive drives—none of them talking to each other. You lose hours just finding the right version of something, shuttling files between systems, or babysitting uploads.
Everyone in tech right now wants to build an AI "brain." We're building the memory—the foundational layer that every tool, pipeline, and agent plugs into and pulls from.
And it's working. Hundreds of teams use Shade Inc. today. We've 10x'd our team, we're growing 200% quarter over quarter, and we're now ingesting over 50TB a day and 10 million minutes of video every month.
With the new round of funding, we’re pressing harder to take back creative’s time. We're shipping major new features and redesigns this quarter—all aimed at making it effortless to find the exact file you need, access it from anywhere, and automate the busywork so you can focus on creating.
2026 is the year of the file system. 2026 is the year of Shade.
