Duke Energy Senior Vice President Nelson Peeler testified before the House Energy & Commerce Committee on how America can reliably meet growing power demand while keeping costs as low as possible. Drawing on Duke Energy’s experience serving some of the fastest growing states in the country, Nelson explained how strong customer protections—along with our vertically integrated model that allows us to plan, build, and operate the entire energy system—help deliver reliable outcomes for customers while keeping rates below the national average and electric rate increases below the rate of inflation over the past decade.

A hands-on field trip can do more than teach science. It can open doors. For students from Clarendon County, South Carolina, a visit to the World of Energy and Bad Creek Hydroelectric Station turned curiosity into discovery. From building edible atom models to traveling hundreds of feet underground inside a hydroelectric powerhouse, students saw firsthand how electricity is generated, and how science, technology, engineering and math power communities every day. Early exposure matters. Experiences like this help young people see what’s possible, spark interest in STEM careers, and build pathways to a workforce that reflects the communities we serve. https://lnkd.in/ejBX56ir.
