As the inaugural MoonPay X Games League (XGL) launched its first summer season in Sacramento, California, with nightly concerts, OSA International showcased one of the industry’s newest lighting tools, deploying newly acquired Elation Rebel Line 16 linear tilt bars on the event’s largest music production to date. Seeking a linear bar capable of shaping striking chevrons while delivering visual impact, Lighting Designer Anthony Padilla found a fixture that not only gave designers a dynamic new creative tool but also impressed with its technician-friendly design. The Brook Casino’s new Secret Garden outdoor stage is ready for concerts, comedy, community events, and everything in between with a flexible Elation lighting system designed and integrated by Port Lighting Systems. Led by Ron Kuszmar, VP of Architectural & Theatrical Lighting at Port Lighting, the project came together on an ambitious four-week timeline. Kuszmar worked closely with Jon Schwille of Peter E. Schmitt Co. and Ross Blitz of Elation to select a versatile lineup of Rebel Wash 12, Rebel Profile, Proteus Radius, SŌL IV Blinders, and Six+ PAR L fixtures. We had a great time connecting with the local production community, sharing ideas, and getting hands-on with the latest Elation technology. One of the standouts of the day was the Rebel Wash, delivering powerful output, rich color, a versatile zoom range, and fast, precise movement in a compact design. It was great to see the fixture in action and show just how much flexibility it can bring to productions of all kinds. When The Brook Casino in Seabrook, New Hampshire, set out to expand its live entertainment offerings with a new outdoor venue, it turned to a familiar partner. Port Lighting Systems, which previously designed the lighting for The Brook’s Seasons Showroom indoor venue, led the lighting design and integration for the casino’s new Secret Garden, a seasonal outdoor performance space that opened this spring. The setup includes Rebel Series profile and wash units, Proteus Radius beam fixtures, SŌL Series strobe/blinders, and Six+ PARs — an ideal combination for delivering reliable, high-impact visuals in New England’s famously unpredictable climate.
