Arlo Benjamin has been with Family Resources for 12 years and is currently an In-Home Specialist where he’s a part of the FUS (Family Unification Services) Team. FUS champions trauma-informed care and provides support/education for families who are at risk of separation. A challenge Arlo notes about his position is the lack of resources for families, along with client buy-in. What keeps Arlo coming back each day is that he wants to be one of the limited resources out there for families. It is important to Arlo that he pays forward what he received in Pittsburgh. Thank you, Arlo, for giving your whole heart to the families you serve and for the unwavering support you provide to your colleagues as a Peer Coach. The staff at Family Resources is always preparing for changes that could affect the lives of our families and our services. Next week, when the NFL Draft in town, is no different. Family Resources Director of Prevention, Brooke Generett Ware, and Jamayia Moore, Operations Manager for our BJWL Out of School-Time program, talked with NPR about the changes that we made to continue to provide safe spaces for our kids to learn. https://lnkd.in/gsfqa7qs

Mary has worked at Family Resources for over 25 years, helping to ensure the safety of children and families. In her current role as Prevention Specialist within the Reach Out to Families program, Mary focuses on parent education, helping caregivers understand age-appropriate expectations for children aged birth through 18 years old. Connecting families to community resources, advocacy in schools, and help with housing and food insecurity are also crucial components of her job. Mary has years of experience facilitating Family Resources court-approved Nurturing Parenting Group for clients who are mainly involved with the court system and/or CYF. After successful completion of the 15-week parenting course, participants receive a certificate of completion that can be presented to the referral source. Thank you Mary for your dedication to children and families. Visit https://lnkd.in/eEuVxUcQ to learn more and support Family Resources' mission #childabuseprevention #familyresources

Recently, we had to say goodbye to our beloved Buddy, Family Resources' Director of Security. Though small in size, Buddy's presence loomed large. For years, this stylish Yorkie helped create a safe, welcoming, and comforting environment for staff and clients alike, boosting morale with every patrol, tail wag, and well-timed visit. He is deeply missed ❤️ In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor Buddy's legacy by supporting Family Resources. Your donation helps our team continue the vital work of preventing child abuse and supporting families impacted by trauma. For more information, visit https://lnkd.in/eEuVxUcQ
