  • This summer, HCA Healthcare’s scale and preparation helped support athletes, fans and communities throughout one of the world’s largest sporting events. ⚽ During the FIFA World Cup, six of the 11 host cities were in HCA Healthcare communities, where 43 games took place. Teams spent up to two years preparing through hospital exercises, enterprise-wide briefings, cross-division collaboration and support led by HCA Healthcare’s Enterprise Preparedness & Emergency Operations team. That preparation included Enterprise Response Teams, translation services, community preparedness, infectious disease training, security planning and high-acuity surge drills to help meet the demands of a global event while protecting access to care locally. “The scale of HCA Healthcare’s response capability is one of our greatest strengths,” says Jacob Johnson, assistant vice president for EMS relations and emergency preparedness at Medical City Healthcare, HCA Healthcare’s North Texas division. “With more than 190 hospitals and deep clinical expertise across emergency care, trauma, cardiac care, infectious disease and more, we can help meet the demands of a global event while protecting access to care for our local communities.” Go behind the scenes to see how HCA Healthcare helped support the action on the global pitch: https://bit.ly/46uiEaQ #HealthierTomorrows #WeShowUp

🐾 On the heels of #NationalDogDay, we’re recognizing three HCA Healthcare facility dogs who have helped bring comfort, connection and support to colleagues and first responders across Texas and beyond. Serving throughout our 🏥 Methodist Healthcare System, Chanel, Lady and Fresca have spent years showing up during moments of joy, stress and healing. From making rounds and brightening busy days to offering colleagues a quiet moment to pause after a difficult shift, their presence can make a meaningful difference. Their support has also extended beyond hospital walls. Following tragedies and disasters, including the Uvalde school shooting and Texas Hill Country floods, these facility dog teams helped support first responders and healthcare professionals navigating extraordinary circumstances. Sometimes, that support is as simple as a head resting in a lap or a few quiet minutes together. Other times, these dogs can help open the door to conversation or connect someone with additional support. As Lady enjoys her well-earned retirement and Chanel and Fresca approach theirs, we’re proud to recognize this remarkable trio, often referred to as the "Golden Girls", for the years of service, support and steady presence they’ve provided to so many. ❤️ #PositiveImpact #CareLikeFamily

For Texas musician Thurman Thomas, getting back on stage with his twin brother, Torrence Thomas, means more than returning to the music he loves. It’s a celebration of life. When sudden pain led Thurman to the emergency room at St. David's HealthCare in Austin, his care team diagnosed blood clots in both lungs in less than an hour and provided the lifesaving care he needed. The experience was especially meaningful for his twin brother, Torrence, who had faced a pulmonary embolism just months earlier. Sharing the stage again gave both brothers an even deeper sense of gratitude. Across HCA Healthcare, our colleagues care for approximately 10 million emergency room patients each year. Thurman’s story shows why timely diagnosis, clinical expertise and compassionate care matter when patients need answers quickly. Watch his story: https://bit.ly/4gSbV0s #CareLikeFamily

💙If your emotional health has been harder to manage lately, a mental health assessment offers a safe, supportive space to talk through what you’re experiencing and identify the care that’s right for you. In this video, La'Boris Cole, Ph.D., NCC, a licensed professional counselor and crisis intervention manager at HCA Healthcare's Medical City Healthcare, explains what happens during an assessment, what questions you may be asked and how talking with a trained clinician can help you better understand your needs and explore what comes next. Reaching out for mental health support can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to take it alone. Across our broader HCA Healthcare behavioral health network, with more than 45 inpatient locations and 180 outpatient programs in 14 states, our teams provide compassionate, personalized care and help patients navigate their mental health journey. • Meet the “Sunshine Girls.” ☀️Twin sisters Dejha and Aj’ha Smith first came to HCA Healthcare affiliate🏥 Memorial Satilla Health through Project SEARCH, an internship program that helps young adults with disabilities build job skills through hands-on workplace experiences. Their internships became something more: a pathway to meaningful careers where they could grow, contribute and make a difference every day. For the past five years, Aj’ha and Dejha have brought their talent and commitment to the hospital community. Aj’ha supports patients as a hospitality associate in food services, while Dejha helps create a welcoming environment as part of the hospital’s environmental services team. Known for their kindness, positivity and joyful spirits, the sisters have earned the nickname the “Sunshine Girls.” Their story reflects HCA Healthcare’s commitment to creating opportunities where colleagues can build meaningful careers and help support patients, teams and communities. 💙 Learn more about how HCA Healthcare invests in our colleagues to strengthen the workforce of tomorrow: https://lnkd.in/eZze45nR #WeShowUp #CareLikeFamily

  • Santa never stops giving — even during the summer. 🎅 Dave Bell, known to many in his Richmond, Virginia community as Santa Claus, recently traded his red suit for a hospital gown at🏥Henrico Doctors’ Hospital Transplant Center where he anonymously donated a kidney to someone he had never met. Becoming a living donor takes commitment. Dave lost more than 40 pounds to complete the evaluation process and give someone else more time, more health and more hope. “I have two of these things, and I only need one,” Dave said. “There’s somebody who has none and they need one.” As part of HCA Healthcare’s broader transplant network, Henrico Doctors’ Hospital Transplant Center helps patients access complex transplant care close to home. Last year, HCA Healthcare transplant teams performed 352 living donor kidney transplants and 1,324 organ transplants overall. Now, Dave is focused on staying healthy ahead of the busy holiday season — and sharing a simple message: “Give what you can, where you can, while you can.” #HealthierTomorrows | Henrico, Parham & Retreat Doctors' Hospitals

  • Back-to-school season reminds us that a teacher’s impact can reach far beyond the classroom. 🍎 When HCA Healthcare nurse Jeannie recently cared for her third-grade teacher, Mrs. Chappell, at 🏥 TriStar Horizon Medical Center, it was a full-circle moment. Jeannie entered Mrs. Chappell’s classroom after moving from Korea knowing limited English. With her teacher’s encouragement and care, she learned English and was reading at grade level within a year! Mrs. Chappell’s impact on one student didn’t end in the classroom — it lives on in the compassion Jeannie brings to patients today. More than 20 years into her nursing career at TriStar Horizon, Jeannie continues to serve the same community that helped welcome her as a child. She has earned HCA Healthcare’s Excellence in Nursing Award for Compassionate Care, one of the organization’s highest nursing honors. Their story reflects what makes HCA Healthcare hospitals special: colleagues who are part of the communities they serve and relationships built on compassion, trust and care. #HCANursing #CareLikeFamily

A brain aneurysm can be silent for years — but certain risk factors should never be ignored. In a new American Medical Association (AMA) article, Dr. Yazan Alderazi, medical director of cerebrovascular disease and neurointerventional surgery with HCA Houston Healthcare, shares what patients should know about brain aneurysms — including symptoms that require emergency care, key risk factors and advances in minimally invasive treatment. Across HCA Healthcare, our hospitals care for approximately 12,000 patients with aneurysms and perform more than 3,000 aneurysm procedures each year. That scale gives our teams an opportunity to advance care through clinical expertise, coordinated processes and technology that supports timely review. “We've implemented processes and different technologies to help make sure patients don't get missed,” Dr. Alderazi shared. Our care teams are using advanced technology, including AI-assisted tools, to help flag potential aneurysms for expert review while keeping physician oversight, patient safety and quality at the center of care. • Caring for patients also means recognizing the people and moments that matter most to them. 💙 At 🏥 HCA Florida Healthcare Englewood Hospital, colleagues came together to help HCA Healthcare patient Mary "Sandy" Godlewsky and her husband, Robert "Bob" Godlewsky, celebrate an incredible milestone — their 65th wedding anniversary — while Sandy recovered from hip surgery. With flowers, balloons, dessert, sparkling juice and a surprise bedside celebration complete with their special song, "Lady in Red," the care team transformed a hospital stay into a memory the family will never forget. Across more than 47 million patient encounters each year, HCA Healthcare colleagues deliver care with clinical expertise, compassion and attention to what matters most. Sandy and Bob’s story is a meaningful example of that commitment in action. #CareLikeFamily
