  • Congratulations to Bethany Thayer, director of our Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, on being named to Women We Admire's 2026 list of The Top Women Leaders of Michigan. 👏 Bethany has dedicated more than three decades to advancing health and wellness at Henry Ford Health, helping create programs such as the Wellness Innovators ERG and the LiveWell Medical Nutrition Therapy program that support healthier lives for our patients, team members and communities. She also led the successful implementation of the Partnership for a Healthier America’s Hospital Healthy Food Initiative, chaired by First Lady Michelle Obama, resulting in Henry Ford Health being named a finalist for the Catalyst of Change Award. • Students from Roseville High School and Macomb Dakota High School's Medical Career Program recently visited Henry Ford Health Macomb Hospital for a firsthand look at how innovation is shaping the future of healthcare. 🤖 During their visit, students had the opportunity to explore the Da Vinci 5 surgical robot and learn how robotic technology is helping our team deliver advanced care. Used for minimally invasive procedures across specialties like gynecology, thoracic and general surgery, robotic surgery can offer patients shorter hospital stays and faster recovery times through smaller incisions and greater precision. The high schoolers also had the chance to connect with members of our surgical services, nursing and anesthesia teams to ask questions about careers in healthcare and hear firsthand about their experiences.

  • We’re not just building the future of health - we’re also delivering it to the builders! At our Destination: Grand hospital expansion construction site in Detroit, a team of registered nurses are providing on-the-job care to our valued construction workers. This unique approach is making a difference by allowing our medical team to meet the construction crews where they are.

  • On an exciting new episode of the BOBcast, our President & CEO Robert Riney sits down with actor, playwright, musician and proud Michigander Jeff Daniels. Jeff worked with us during the fall on our “Where We Live” campaign, and he’s back for a thorough conversation on his career, his new movie “The Brink of War,” which comes out later this year, and why the state of Michigan was the perfect place to grow his family. 🎧 Listen to the conversation on Spotify and Apple Podcasts: https://apple.co/4uhbIrK

  • Five years ago, our surgeons Dr. Daizo Tanaka and Shunji Nagai MD, PhD, FACS gave Marcus McGrew a combined heart and kidney transplant at Henry Ford Hospital. Today, Marcus is thriving. Several years before, Marcus had been diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease. His condition was managed by a local doctor but he still wasn’t feeling well. It was perhaps fate then, that while working at The Kresge Foundation, he met Nancy Schlichting, former president and CEO of Henry Ford Health, who referred him to our specialists. Marcus learned that not only was his polycystic kidney disease worsening, but he was also suffering from congestive heart failure, which required a combined heart and kidney transplant. With a stellar recovery behind him, Marcus feels thankful for everyone who made his second chance at life possible. “To my care team: Where would I be without you? I’m grateful for your humanity,” Marcus says. “You saw me as a person and a patient. I’m grateful for your expertise and for how you expressed your love for me. I felt totally seen, heard and valued throughout my stay and many visits. I want to pay that forward in some meaningful way. I am glad you all took the oath to practice medicine and I’m alive because you did. I am one of the miracles that happened at Henry Ford Hospital.” Read Marcus’ full story: https://bit.ly/4895rFN

  • Congratulations to our lab team at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital for receiving the highest level of accreditation by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). This significant accomplishment recognizes our team's commitment to high-quality patient care. In the letter of accreditation, CAP points to excellence in laboratory medicine services, complimenting lab team members for achieving such a commendable level. Accreditation was awarded following an in-depth, on-site inspection. Well done, team!

  • 🏗️ Our team members just signed the beam that will sit at the highest point of our new patient tower. Signing the beam is a time-honored construction tradition to mark completion of the steel structure - and we're proud to carry it forward as we build the future of our Detroit campus. The 20-story patient tower is part of our state-of-the-art Henry Ford Hospital expansion project, currently being constructed across the street from the existing hospital on W. Grand Blvd. The hospital expansion is expected to open in 2029.

    • A group of five individuals stand smiling behind a large, signed beam with the word "HEALTH" and a blue cross symbol prominently displayed. They are in a tented area with a clear view of the outside environment behind them.

  • Our heart & vascular team at Henry Ford Providence Southfield Hospital performed the Michigan’s 1st multi-organ denervation (MDN) procedure, offering a new option for people with hard-to-control high blood pressure. 👏 By using targeted energy to calm overactive nerves around key blood vessels, MDN offers new hope for patients whose hypertension has been difficult to control with or without medication. This innovative procedure was performed as part of a global study evaluating the procedural and long-term safety of MDN and will help advance treatments for complex cardiovascular conditions.

  • We’re grateful to celebrate all our volunteers – like Arseniy Illinich – who give their time, energy and heart each day to lend a helping hand to our patients and their families, as well as our team members. Arseniy dedicates his time outside of class at University of Michigan-Dearborn to volunteer at Henry Ford Providence Novi Hospital. His work reflects how volunteering can bring different skills and passions together to support others. 💙
