We know you love to guess what HYROX stands for. The most common one? Hybrid Rockstar. Well, we have to disappoint you. The real story is far less glamorous. Our first ever event, back in 2017, wasn't even called HYROX. It was called CUROX. Then, two days before the event, we settled a trademark dispute in court. Someone felt the name was too close to theirs. We could run that first event as planned, but we had to rename everything afterwards. So we hired a trademark lawyer and started from a very unromantic question: which five-letter combination is both cool and legally protectable? We liked the sound of "rox”, which looked cool next to a Y. So we worked through options: Kyrox, Tyrox, Byrox, until we landed on HYROX. Sometimes the origin story isn't a grand vision. In our case it was a lawyer, five letters, and a deadline. 😀

Amazon becomes the Global Digital Marketplace Partner of HYROX. There’s so much more to getting race-ready than going to the gym. It’s the training in the weeks before, the fuel, the kit, the recovery, the playlist that gets you through your sessions. Things that should be accessible to you every day, anytime. Our three-year global partnership with Amazon brings it all into one place - marking the first digital marketplace partnership in HYROX history. Last season, 1.5 million athletes raced HYROX across 105 events in 35 countries. This season, we expect to pass two million. That growth has created one of the most engaged fitness audiences in the world, and a clear commercial opportunity: at any given moment, hundreds of thousands of athletes are preparing to race and deciding what to train, fuel and compete in. From today, dedicated HYROX storefronts are live on Amazon in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and Ireland, bringing apparel, wearables, functional training equipment and recovery into a single destination. More markets to follow. Amazon Music has built curated HYROX playlists, produced around the runs and the stations. In December, Amazon becomes Title Partner of HYROX London ExCeL. Everything you need to train, race and recover, in one place. 🌎 This video features AI-generated visuals.

We talk about sleep, nutrition and recovery as part of performance, but why are some factors in female performance still so rarely discussed? On a recent episode of our HYROX365 Academy Insights podcast, Mintra Tilly, our former Director of Sports and Dr Bryna Chrismas, Senior Lecturer Applied Exercise Physiology, made a simple point: for female athletes, things like the menstrual cycle should be as normal a part of the training conversation as any other. Not a taboo. Not something to work around in silence. Just another factor a good coach and athlete can talk about openly. As they put it, there are anatomical and life-phase differences that female athletes go through, and they need to be acknowledged, researched and prioritised. That's a big part of why we set up our Sport Science Advisory Council. To make sure the way people train for HYROX is built on real research and expert input, not guesswork or assumptions. We'd love to start this conversation with you. Head over to our HYROX365 Academy Insights Podcast, give it a listen, and let us know what you think. 🖤

One of the most important decision in our history wasn't ours to make. A German football club made it for us. Our first ever HYROX race was meant to be outdoors, in the park around HSV's stadium in Hamburg. Then something happened that had nothing to do with us. HSV were relegated to the second division for the first time in the club's history. The second league season starts three weeks earlier than the first. Suddenly our date was gone, and our "venue" with it. So we were forced to move indoors, into an exhibition hall. Looking back, it's the best thing that could have happened. Because an indoor event on private ground changed everything. No road closures. No city permits. No weather surprises. No cap on how big it could get. A marathon can't ask a city to shut its streets for a second day. We could just add one. Take Manchester. It now runs up to 12 days in Season 26/27. So, credit where it's due: thank you HSV. A relegation none of your fans wanted turned out to be the making of us. 🖤

When the world's largest group training provider bets on fitness racing, is that a signal that hybrid training is becoming a permanent category rather than a trend? Les Mills International has spent decades perfecting the group class model. They already supply workouts to 23,000 gyms across 120 countries. Together, we are now building programmes for people preparing for a HYROX race. Gyms have offered goal-based training for years. Weightloss, transformation challenges, but something has clearly shifted. People aren't just going to the gym anymore, they're training toward something with a date on it. The race date that doesn't move. It changes how people train, how consistently they show up, and why they stay committed. It's why a partnership like this makes sense. Hybrid training has stopped being something people do at the gym, and started being something the gym is built around. That's a different business to run, and a different reason for people to walk in. Have you noticed a shift in your gym, or in how you show up?

How does AI fit into a sport like ours? 🤖 HYROX is an analog product. Even with so much happening in the digital world, at the end of the day it's about the experience as a sport. People go to the gym, they train, they go to the event and they race. That doesn't change. But AI is going to be an important supporting factor. At 1.8 million athletes, it's almost impossible to maintain a relevant level of customer service across every channel through people alone. The volume is simply too high. It's an area we're still working on, and one where technology will make a real difference. There's also a lot of potential to bring more consistency and accuracy to how races are judged. We are looking into options on how AI can support us here. And further out, things like unique athlete profiles built on your real data, a digital layer that could sit alongside the physical sport. Some of that is still just ideas for now, but it's the kind of thing we're thinking about. The product stays analog. AI will help us to run it better. We know we have a lot of tech and AI experts in our community. What's your take on AI in an analog sports world?

In business and sport, we often celebrate intensity. But what if sustainable high performance is less about pushing harder and more about knowing when to recover, adapt and pace yourself? Working longer, training harder, constantly pushing beyond our limits. We tend to associate performance with intensity. Elite athletes know that's only part of the equation. Sustainable performance also requires pacing, recovery, adaptability and the ability to stay composed when the original plan stops working. Coaches in sports and leaders of businesses carry the same responsibility. One manages the training load of their athletes, the other the workload of their team. Both are the ones deciding how much is enough, when to pace, and when to make space for a break. These are some of the conversations we will be exploring on the HYROX Cruise with athletes, coaches, founders and performance experts including mental resilience, sustainable progression, community building and leadership under pressure. Our Co-Founder and CMO, Moritz Fuerste, will be on board too. He's experienced both sides of the equation, first as a professional athlete, and now as a leader himself. No doubt he’ll have a lot of insight into how his sports background shaped the way he leads. What do you believe matters most for long-term performance? 💪

They watched you race. Now it's their turn. 🖤 Imagine standing in the crowd at your next HYROX race, but this time, you're not the one competing. You're watching your child on the race floor. Cheering them through every station. Feeling a kind of pride you've never felt at a HYROX event before. That's what HYROX Youngstars creates. Not just for the young athletes, but for the whole family. 4,000 young athletes competed across the first three races. 12,000 family members cheered them on in the crowd. 9 more HYROX Youngstars races are planned by the end of 2026, taking place across Europe and, for the first time ever, on American soil. “Watching children cross the finish line with confidence, determination and huge smiles reminds me exactly why we started this journey. It has been a privilege to help shape a programme that is creating opportunities for young people around the world. And this is only the beginning." - Jessica Petty, Head of HYROX Youngstars Nearly 10 years in, HYROX Youngstars is how we make sure the sport has a future and that the next generation has a place in it from the very beginning. What life lessons do you think kids take away from sport that stay with them? ⚡️

Almost one year of Racing for Impact. 37,000 of you showed up and raised millions for good causes. Here's what we achieved together. 🖤 Together with High Impact Athletes, we created a global fundraising movement that gives every HYROX athlete the chance to race for something bigger than a finish time. Performance and purpose go hand in hand. 35 events across 18 countries. 5.2€ million raised. Together we are able to give people access to therapy sessions, support women affected by domestic violence, care for rescued animals and bring clean water and medical aid to underserved communities around the world. That's the impact of a community that shows up. We are curious: do you think connecting a physical challenge to a cause makes people more likely to follow through, on both?
