Alex Lesperance, IFAS Human Resources Manager, is one of the longest tenured employees at the company. Alex had this to say when asked to reflect on her time at IFAS: "I’ve had the rare opportunity to witness and contribute to a true organizational transformation. When I started at IFAS 14 years ago, we had no formal policies, no ISO certification, and most processes were completely manual. Over the years, I’ve watched us build structure, implement standards, and grow into a company capable of scaling with intention. We’ve more than doubled in size, matured beyond 8(a) status, and evolved from a small hands-on operation into a more sophisticated and resilient organization. Being part of that journey has shaped me professionally and personally, and I’m proud of the role I’ve played in helping us move from where we were to where we are today."

As we march towards our 20th anniversary, which will take place on January 12, 2027, we believe it's important to spend some time reflecting on the many milestones, achievements, and lessons learned over the years. The journey began with our founder and CEO, Tabatha Turman who started the company after serving 20 years in the U.S. Army. We asked Tabatha ... What was the experience like transitioning from the U.S. Army to entrepreneurship? "Entering the Army at a young age provided me with so many opportunities: To go to college and graduate school, hone my professional expertise and travel to see the world. I’m grateful for the opportunities and lessons I learned while serving. However, being deployed on critical missions meant I was away from home and my family. I was able to rely on my village to provide both my children and me continued, consistent support, but I certainly felt “mom guilt.” One thing that also goes unspoken is the transition period upon your return, where we’re all trying to get reacclimated, which can be a challenge. All of this led me to honorably transition from the military and embark on my entrepreneurial journey. Using the skills that I learned in service, I discovered that there were critical accounting and financial tools that government agencies and contractors were missing.
