At Intermountain Health's Southridge Clinic in Riverton, Utah, caregivers are committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered women's health care during life's most difficult moments. When patients experience pregnancy loss, miscarriage, or other complex reproductive health challenges, registered nurse Milly Allred, medical assistant Christil Ferber, practice director Jordan Bullock, and their colleagues work together to ensure every patient feels heard, supported, and empowered to make the choices that are right for their family. Whether helping patients navigate pregnancy loss testing, coordinating care across departments, answering questions about next steps, or honoring deeply personal wishes following a miscarriage, the Southridge Clinic team leads with empathy, advocacy, and respect. Caregivers at Intermountain Health St. Mary's Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado recently celebrated the opening of OR 14, a new operating room that expands access to advanced surgical care for patients across the region. The addition comes in response to sustained growth in surgical volumes and creates capacity to meet increasing demand. By expanding its surgical footprint, St. Mary's can help more patients receive timely care close to home. "This project has been nearly two years in the making and reflects the dedication and collaboration of countless caregivers, leaders, and support teams," said Angie Burenheide, MSN, RN, CAPA, director of Perioperative Services at St. Mary's. "OR 14 not only creates capacity for future growth but also strengthens our ability to provide advanced surgical services, including robotic and cardiac procedures, close to home." With the addition of OR 14, St. Mary's now has 14 operating rooms, including 13 general operating rooms and one hybrid operating room. Designed to support advanced surgical technology, OR 14 is larger than a standard operating room and can accommodate the specialized equipment required for robotic and cardiac procedures. Before its completion, St. Mary's had only two operating rooms equipped to support complex cardiac cases. "Most importantly, OR 14 expands access to timely, high-quality care for the patients and communities we serve,” said Burenheide. “We're excited about what this means for the future of healthcare at St. Mary's and the opportunities it creates for continued growth.” The new operating room is expected to reduce surgical wait times, increase capacity for robotic and cardiac procedures, and support continued growth in specialized surgical services as the region's population expands.
