Thank you to Hephzibah Children's Association for providing us the opportunity once again to support our Annual Backpack Drive with the WINGS Giving Back Committee! This year marked our 5th year of supporting, and we collected 181 backpacks and lunchboxes, totaling $1,665 in support. New this year, we added lunchboxes to the mix! Huge thanks to Arora Engineers for their generous support in helping us reach our goal, and to everyone who contributed to such a meaningful cause.

San Diego International Airport (SAN) is in the midst of a transformative $3.8 billion Terminal modernization program that includes replacing the original 1960s-built Terminal 1, constructing a 5,200-space parking plaza, installing approximately four miles of TSA-certified baggage handling system, and developing a five-mile airport roadway network. In September 2025, the Turner–FlatironDragados joint venture completed Phase 1A of the program, delivering the first 19 gates and 940,000 square feet of the new terminal. Upon full completion in 2028, the new Terminal 1 will encompass approximately 1.2 million square feet and 30 gates, significantly enhancing the travel experience for millions of passengers each year.   We heard more from JWI Project Director, Michael Mosby, PMP, about SAN’s New Terminal: “JWI's role at SAN has been to complement the construction expertise of our joint venture partners by providing specialized project and construction management services for the airport's baggage handling systems. We were initially engaged during the validation phase in February 2022 to support the design and preconstruction efforts for the TSA-certified Baggage Handling System scope. As the project evolved, our responsibilities expanded to include management of the Passenger Boarding Bridge and Security Screening Checkpoint scopes as well.   Having the opportunity to support Phase 1A from concept through completion has been an incredible privilege. Now, as Phase 1B construction progresses, we are excited to continue contributing to the realization of the full 30-gate terminal vision and to help deliver a world-class facility that will serve the San Diego community for generations to come.”
