🩸 Today, we stand with the global community to raise awareness for Hereditary Factor X Deficiency (HFXD), an ultra-rare bleeding disorder affecting approximately one in one million people worldwide. HFXD may present itself through unusual or excessive bleeding. In severe cases, patients experience life-threatening complications like bleeding in the brain or stomach. Honoring HFXD Awareness Day is essential for promoting early recognition of these symptoms, reducing diagnostic delays, and advancing research toward improved patient outcomes. ✨Honoring Humble Heroes ✨ Last night, we gathered in Buffalo, NY, to honor the extraordinary individuals whose generosity fuels a vital therapy: anti-D plasma. Each donation has the potential to produce up to 40 doses of anti-D, helping prevent Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn in Rh-negative mothers. We recognized donors whose lifetime contributions have surpassed 600 donations—a testament to their unwavering commitment, as well as those donors who have completed their donation journey.
