  • What if 350 million people couldn't use your product?     That's the estimated number of people globally with colorblindness, and it's exactly the population Mattel, Inc. and ColorADD - Color Identification System founder Miguel Neiva set out to serve with their colorblind-accessible UNO deck. In episode 4 of What Comes Next, our podcast with Making Space and Advertising Week, Miguel tells hosts Keely Cat-Wells and Dana Randall the story behind the innovative partnership that made a well-loved household game more inclusive. Dig into the origin of the ColorADD x Mattel partnership, how Miguel's design language is now used in 62+ games, and how the collaboration drove a 66% jump in sales. • Level Up keynote session banner: 'AI for Everyone: Accessibility by Design,' featuring a photo of Laurie Allen, Senior Accessibility Technology Evangelist at Microsoft.
  • Great turnout at the North Carolina Digital Government Summit this week! It was a pleasure attending alongside so many leaders focused on improving the digital experience across the state. One theme that really stood out was the importance of mirroring the staff and citizen experience. The technology we use internally should be as intuitive and accessible as the technology we provide to the public. At Level Access, we’re proud to help organizations make sure their digital technology is accessible for everyone, creating better experiences for employees, citizens, and the communities they serve. #DigitalGovernment #GovTech #DigitalAccessibility

    • Digital sign on the Raleigh Convention Center exterior reading 'Welcome, North Carolina Digital Government Summit 2026, August 19, 2026.'
    • Audience seated at a conference hall with a speaker on stage and two large screens reading 'North Carolina 2026 Digital Government Summit.'
  • Shipping a fix after accessibility issues are flagged isn't proof of accessibility. It's proof that issues existed. In his latest article, our Chief Accessibility Officer, Jonathan Avila, CPWA, breaks down the difference between proving asset-level accessibility and proving you have a real process to catch—and prevent—accessibility barriers next time.

In my latest article, I dig into what makes for real proof of accessibility, in practice: evidence of how you find issues, why they happened, and the structures that will prevent them from happening in the first place. The more I think about it, the more I notice this emphasis on proof of practice, not just outcome, everywhere—in regulatory guidance, in procurement conversations, and in the vendor calls I sit in every week. A strong VPAT at signing doesn't protect anyone if the practice behind it falls apart six months later. Most organizations I support can show current state easily. Far fewer can show how they got there, or where they're headed next. How does your organization keep proving accessibility? Let me know in the comments.  #DigitalAccessibility #A11y #Accessibility

  • Quick gut check: Is your organization taking the right action to make your digital content accessible? How will you keep it accessible as it evolves? • If you’ve noticed accessibility lawsuits are surging in the U.S., but aren’t sure what that means for your organization, you’re not alone, and it’s worth getting ahead of. In our recent legal briefing, disability rights attorney Eve Hill joined Level Access's Corbb O'Connor and Jonathan Avila, CPWA to break down where things stand heading into the second half of 2026. In the full session, you'll learn how to: → Gauge EAA exposure based on the first year of enforcement actions → Understand ADA litigation trends and the Title II deadline extension → Limit cross-regional accessibility risk in the second half of 2026 (and beyond) This is what you need to update your compliance plans. • Effort doesn't secure budget, evidence does. You're doing the right work on accessibility. But when leadership asks for proof it's working, do you have it? Is it easy to point to? If not, that's the evidence gap. And it's the reason your program loses buy-in and funding. The Accessibility Reporting Playbook gives you a framework for closing that gap: • A roadmap for proving accessibility progress • A way to connect that progress to the outcomes leaders care about • A real case study showing how this works in practice The playbook is waiting for you in the comments. 👇 #DigitalAccessibility #Accessibility #Compliance #A11y Video description: Scene 1: The Level Access logo appears in the top left corner, with "AI Voiceover" text in the top right. A phone's home screen shows a new email notification from Jack Smith, VP of Legal, reading "Great to know the team is active on accessibility, but how do we know it's actually working?" Scene 2: A white woman with light brown hair, wearing a black sweater, speaks to the camera. On-screen text reads "The Evidence Gap." Scene 3: A screen recording shows the playbook, including the sections "Accessibility Reporting Playbook: How to Prove Compliance and ROI," "Accessibility proof in practice: a case study," and "Show the real impact of your accessibility work." Scene 4: Same as Scene 2: The woman in the black sweater returns to camera.
