Igniting a journey of enrichment for every generation as the fine art museum of the central Pacific Northwest

About us

Maryhill Museum of Art provides a window into the world for its surrounding communities and visitors. The museum was incorporated in 1923 and dedicated by Queen Marie of Romania in 1926. It opened to the public in 1940, and since that time has been a major cultural and arts resource, tourist attraction and central Pacific Northwest landmark. The museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums with an average annual operating budget of around $1.8 million. Support for the museum comes from a wide variety of contributors in addition to its earned income. Each year the museum presents changing exhibitions, permanent exhibition rotations, and public and educational programs related to its mission. The museum is renowned for its collections that include American, European and Indigenous American works of art. Its exhibitions, programs and activities receive regional, national, and at times, international attention. Situated on 5,300 acres of ranch lands, the campus immediately surrounding the museum offers stunning vistas, informal gardens, a sculpture park, and a Lewis and Clark Overlook. The museum is on the National Register and is a recognized site of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail. Maryhill Museum of Art also owns and maintains Stonehenge Memorial Monument, the nation's first WWI memorial (also listed on the National Register), as well as Maryhill Loops Road, the first paved road in the State of Washington.
