    A few months ago, Netflix quietly launched a finsta. I talked to Hannah Gullixson, Head of Social Marketing, about the role @Netflix2 plays in their 550+ account social media ecosystem. (Yes, you read that right—Netflix has over 550+ handles across 17 platforms.) Here's what Hannah told me: "We launched our finsta, @Netflix2, a few months ago as a way to engage with younger audiences on Instagram. We’ve had success reaching these fans through our Whatsapp channel, but noticed that many were DMing us across TikTok and Instagram wanting to connect more with our admin. So we came up with @Netflix2 as a way to create a two way communication channel with these fans while also expanding our brand voice. This is how we started on TikTok nearly five years ago, and it’s helped us become the largest entertainment brand on that platform. At the end of the day, it’s all about staying authentic as a brand, but reaching the audiences where they’re at and delivering what they expect from each platform."

    As we look ahead to this year’s Emmys, we want to take a moment to recognize our #DreamTeam for a truly memorable season. We’re honored to have received 120 nominations across 44 Netflix original programs, including first-time nominations in several areas and strong recognition in both Limited and Variety Series. Netflix original series from the UK continue to shine, with last year’s “Baby Reindeer” followed by this year’s “Adolescence.” We’re especially proud that all five main cast members from “Adolescence” received acting nominations, and that Owen Cooper, at just 15, is the youngest nominee in his category. This year also brings first-time Emmy nominations for actors Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Stephen Graham, and Cooper Koch, as well as supporting actors Javier Bardem, Erin Doherty, Tom Segura, Chloë Sevigny, Christine Tremarco, and Ashley Walters. Congratulations as well to Maya Rudolph, who is now the most nominated woman for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance for “Big Mouth.” We’re also excited to see “Black Mirror” receive its highest Emmy nominations haul ever and “Love, Death + Robots” already winning four Emmy Awards. Beyonce’s iconic “Beyonce Bowl” landed its first Emmy win last weekend, with 3 more nominations to be announced in September - an exciting first Emmy win for team Beyonce! These achievements reflect our team’s dedication to diverse storytelling and creative excellence. Thank you to everyone who made this possible. This dark chapter's first quartet of episodes hath drawn the second most gazes in a lone week across all English TV, surpassed only by her own first season.
