Please join us in offering a heartfelt congratulations to this year’s team and project award winners: 🏆Department of the Year, Clinical: Pharmacy, Ochsner Health. By using advanced technology to streamline prior authorizations and partnering closely with nurses and providers, the Pharmacy team improved medication safety and expanded access to complex therapies. 🏆Department of the Year, Nonclinical: Government Relations, Ochsner Health. • Ochsner Specialty Pharmacy and Latent partnered three years ago with a shared goal: to use AI to help more patients get access to the medications they need, faster. What began as a focused effort to reduce the burden of prior authorization review has grown into a collaborative partnership aimed at improving the patient medication access journey. This work reflects a shared commitment to the people behind every approval. Read the full case study: https://lnkd.in/g5RuAVgt

Before partnering with Latent, Ochsner Health's Specialty Pharmacy team spent 30+ minutes drafting each appeal letter. Today that process takes only 7 minutes. ⏱️ When a prior auth gets denied, a patient's medication goes on hold. Appeals reverse that decision, but the process is grueling: clinical documentation, letters of medical necessity, denial rebuttals, often on a deadline measured in days. Ochsner's clinical pharmacist team benchmarked 91 Latent-assisted appeals against their manual process. The results: - 30.6 min → 7.2 min per appeal - 75-80% reduction in draft time - 35.4 hours reclaimed across the review period, nearly a full workweek back for patient care In Sheena Babin, PharmD, CSP's words, Director of Specialty Pharmacy at Ochsner Health: "We are appealing more denials in a more time efficient manner, improving the turnaround time for patients." 🤝 See full case study here: https://lnkd.in/g5RuAVgt Debbie Simonson | Jason Chou | Shawn Thomas | Courtney Corona, PharmD, CSP

  • On March 27-28, representatives from Ochsner Therapy & Wellness participated in the Brain Injury Association of Louisiana’s annual conference, furthering our commitment to advancing neurological care statewide. As exhibitors, our team shared expert insights and resources for people with brain and spinal cord injuries, building new connections with patients, caregivers and fellow providers. Our therapists engaged in targeted educational sessions, strengthening their clinical knowledge and reinforcing our leadership in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services across Louisiana. A highlight of the conference was the Unmasking Brain Injury art display, an initiative that amplifies the voices and experiences of survivors and their families while sharing the realities of brain injury. We commend Alicia Cantrell, a speech-language pathologist specializing in neurologic rehabilitation, and her patient, Clarence, for their meaningful contributions to this project. After multiple strokes and seizures affected his ability to speak and read, Clarence showed resilience. His powerful contribution to the art display featured a mask with a message he wrote: "My own brain tried to kill me, but I WON." Ochsner Health partners with the Brain Injury Association of Louisiana to drive progress in neurological care, advocacy and patient outcomes across our state. Together, we are expanding access, fostering innovation and supporting individuals and families on their path to recovery.
