  • Most people think deforestation is the problem. It is. But it's not the whole story. Land degradation — the slow erosion of soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem function — now affects more than 3.2 billion people worldwide. That's around 40% of the global population. The land doesn't have to be gone to be broken. This Earth Month, One Tree Planted is planting trees, but it goes deeper than that. Lasting impact begins by understanding the bigger picture: the soil, the water cycle, the biodiversity networks that make a forest a forest, and not just a row of trees. Because the opposite of deforestation isn't planting trees. It's regeneration.

  • Arbor Day offers an opportunity to refocus on one of the most effective Nature-based Solutions we have available to us. Trees support biodiversity, improve watershed health, store carbon, and strengthen ecosystem resilience over time. Investing in reforestation means investing in the long-term function and stability of the landscapes that communities and wildlife depend on. This Earth Month, we invite you to support reforestation efforts worldwide. Donate and get involved in helping rebuild the systems that make life on Earth possible. https://lnkd.in/efGHuVFv

  • Sustainability, at its best, is about creating a future where people, businesses, and nature can thrive together. One where brand purpose translates into tangible, long-term impact. Joybird is putting that idea into practice. Since 2021, Joybird has donated over $400,000 to support reforestation across North America. Their support is helping recover wildfire-scarred landscapes in California, restore critical habitats for endangered birds in Hawai’i, bring back historic Longleaf pine ecosystems across the Southeast U.S., and much more. As a brand committed to “planting joy,” Joybird is a great example of how a design-forward company can weave environmental impact into the fabric of its business — making a meaningful difference while doing what it does best. Watch our video to see the on-the-ground impact that Joybird’s commitment has already made. 🌲

  • On Earth Day, this recognition carries a different kind of meaning. Yesterday, One Tree Planted’s ‘Meet the Moment’ campaign was honored with a People’s Voice Award in the 29th annual Webby Awards. 🏆 What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that it came from the public. To us, that makes it more than an award. It is a signal. A signal that people care deeply about the future of the planet — and that messages grounded in truth, hope, and action still resonate. At the heart of ‘Meet the Moment’ was a simple belief: we can still change course, we can restore the planet. The scale of climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental degradation is real. But so is the opportunity to repair, restore, and rebuild the living systems on which life depends. According to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, up to 40% of the world’s land is degraded. The land is still there, but its living systems are weakened: soil exhausted, forests cleared, wetlands drained, habitat fragmented, ground polluted or eroded. There is much work ahead to restore the Earth, and restoration remains profoundly underfunded. That is why corporate commitments to reforestation, restoration, and nature-positive business are so critical. We will not restore the Earth fast enough to keep pace with degradation without far greater investment, stronger partnerships, and a shared commitment to action. Thank you to everyone who believed in this message, voted for it, and continues to stand with us in the work of restoring our planet — including the corporate partners whose commitments help make restoration possible at the scale this moment demands. 💚 Read the full announcement ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ei9hsegm #EarthDay #WebbyAwards #PeoplesVoice #MeetTheMoment #OneTreePlanted #Restoration #Reforestation #NaturePositive #ClimateAction #Biodiversity #CSR #ESG

  • Happy Earth Day 🌎 Today reminds us that environmental progress happens when individuals, organizations, and communities take action together. This year, we’re inviting you, our community, to turn awareness into action by supporting global reforestation efforts, including the restoration of our planet’s forests that support biodiversity, stabilize climate systems, and strengthen communities worldwide. This is the big deal ⬇️ Mangroves are some of the most important ecosystems on the planet. They protect coastlines from erosion and storms. They filter water. They store large amounts of carbon. And they create critical habitat for fish, birds, and wildlife. When these ecosystems are restored, the impact reaches far beyond what any number or chart can convey. In the Indian Sundarbans, a women-led mangrove restoration project is turning the tide for nature and for the communities who rely on it. By combining direct planting and assisted natural regeneration, local women are restoring high-elevation riverine areas to boost biodiversity and coastal resilience. From nurturing seedlings in women-run nurseries to planting and long-term monitoring, the initiative is a powerful combination of ecological restoration and economic empowerment. And it will continue to grow. This is what restoration looks like up close. This Earth Month, see the impact behind the trees and donate today: https://lnkd.in/g6_Zh6c

  • 40% of the earth's land is degraded. But here's what gives us hope: trees heal. They restore soil, filter water, pull carbon from the air, and bring ecosystems back to life all from a single seed. Reforestation isn't a silver bullet, but it's one of the most powerful, proven tools we have. And right now, during Earth Month, there's no better time to be part of it. Through the Planet Oat Project, our friends at Planet Oat helped us take that message into the heart of New York City, and we're taking it to the ground, one tree at a time. We've been nominated, but we need your vote for nature... We're honored to share that One Tree Planted's 'Meet the Moment' campaign has been nominated for the 30th Annual Webby Awards and we have a real shot at the People's Choice Award. Unlike the jury prize, the People's Choice is decided entirely by public votes. Which means this one comes down to community. 'Meet the Moment' asked a question we believe is more urgent than ever: what if, instead of accepting ecological decline as inevitable, we dared to imagine something better? A world where land is restored, biodiversity is protected, and people live in reciprocity with nature, not at its expense. The campaign was a call to act, to plant, and to restore. To meet this moment in history with intention. If that vision resonates with you, we'd love your vote. It takes 30 seconds and it means the world to us, and to the forests this work was made for. 🗳️ Voting closes April 16th → https://lnkd.in/gJUVR_xJ Thank you for being part of this community. A better world isn't promised. It's planted — and it's advocated for, by people like you. #WebbyAwards #PeoplesChoice #MeetTheMoment #OneTreePlanted #ClimateAction #Sustainability #BrandedContent

  • This Earth Month, we’re proud to team up once again with ASICS, a brand whose commitment to performance, innovation, and sustainability continues to move the needle. Through the Run for Reforestation Challenge in the ASICS Runkeeper app, ASICS is showing how movement can support more than our own health — by restoring the forests that make outdoor recreation, training, and time outside possible. 🌲 Forests are essential to life on Earth, and they’re also places where many of us run, walk, explore, and recharge. Trees shade the trails we train on, help clean the air we breathe, and form the greenspaces that help us feel grounded and energized. By encouraging participants to log their miles throughout the month of April, ASICS is turning everyday healthy habits into real environmental impact. For every person who completes a 5K run, jog or walk in the Run For Reforestation Challenge during the month of April, ASICS will plant a tree (up to 100,000 total during the campaign). This builds on an already impressive legacy of more than 240,000 trees planted through the Run for Reforestation Challenge since 2023. Together, we can transform individual movement into global momentum for the forests and landscapes that need it most. This Earth Month, every step counts.

  • We don't ask: where can we plant trees? We ask: where can trees restore the most life? 75% of the Earth's land surface has been significantly altered by human hands. One Tree Planted exists to change that. We work across 14 critical landscapes — where forests, people, wildlife, and climate intersect. Where reforestation doesn't just plant trees, it rebuilds the living infrastructure that sustains all of life on Earth. Our goal: restore 500,000 hectares across 5 global regions by 2035. Your business can be part of it. Explore the landscapes where we work and find where your company fits into the restoration ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/ehAhdYcC
