Adding a new Wildlife character isn’t just about design. It’s a full research expedition. 🧐 Physical studies. Sculpt exploration. Motion analysis. Michael White went deep into the wild to perfect Wordscapes’ newest addition. Because if it’s going to live in our game… it better look like it belongs there. Authenticity matters. Even in unexpected ecosystems. #GamingIndustry #CreativeCulture #GameArt #MobileGaming #TeamSpotlight #f2p #peoplefun #mobilegames #gamedev #mobilegames #wordscapes

Last year, we hosted our very first WordscapesCon — and it was an unforgettable milestone for our team and community. 🎉 For the first time, Wordscapes players met face-to-face with the PeopleFun team and with one another. Our Ambassadors spent the day collaborating with developers, sharing feedback, playtesting upcoming features, and helping shape the future of the game — all while celebrating the community that has fueled Wordscapes’ success. One standout moment? Wordscapes: The Game Show — a friendly tournament that brought plenty of energy (and a little competitive spirit!) to the event. You can see some of the highlights in this video. We’re excited to bring WordscapesCon back this June. This year will be especially meaningful as our 2025 Ambassadors welcome the 2026 Ambassador team — passing the torch and coming together for two days focused on collaboration, community insight, innovation, and celebration. Moments like these are a powerful reminder of what can happen when players and developers connect directly. #Wordscapes #MobileGaming #GameDevelopment #CommunityBuilding #PlayerFirst #PeopleFun #TripledotStudios

At PeopleFun, we’re remote-first… but never connection-last. We believe great talent lives everywhere. Our team spans cities, states, and countries around the world, and remote work allows us to collaborate across time zones while building games together every single day. It gives our team flexibility, access to global perspectives, and the ability to hire the very best people no matter where they call home. And several times a year, we bring that global team together in person. Our recent Dallas on-site was packed with collaboration, strategy, and the kind of face-to-face energy that fuels great ideas. And one evening, we traded conference rooms for cowboy boots at Billy Bob’s Texas. Mechanical bull? Conquered. Indoor rodeo? Experienced. High-fives? Plentiful. Moments like these remind us why investing in time together matters. Shared experiences build trust. Trust strengthens collaboration. And strong collaboration builds great games. Remote-first. Globally connected. Occasionally airborne. #RemoteFirst #CompanyCulture #TeamBuilding #GamingIndustry #EmployeeExperience #PeopleFun

People having fun at PeopleFun 🦉🐢🦒 At a recent on-site, the Wordscapes Solitaire team took an afternoon to enjoy each other’s company, learn a little about wildlife, and have some fun at the Dallas Zoo. Between watching a slow-motion standoff between two groups of Galápagos tortoises, taking in one of North America’s largest flamingo flocks, and meeting the ever-charismatic Tebogo — a people-loving reticulated giraffe supporting the zoo’s endangered giraffe conservation efforts — it was a great reminder of how inspiring the natural world can be. One of our artists, Jeff, could often be found with his sketchbook in hand, capturing many of the animals and birds along the way — including a sketch of a Gray’s monitor. Proof that creativity doesn’t clock out when you leave the office. At PeopleFun, we believe that in order to create fun, you have to be able to have it too. #PeopleFun #Wordscapes #CompanyCulture #CreativeTeam #GameDevelopment #MobileGames #LifeAtPeopleFun

Today, we’re shining the spotlight on Steve Meretzky, our VP of Design — a true fountain of creativity and inspiration in the world of gaming! 𝟏. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐭 "𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝!" 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐮𝐬? The first game company I worked at was Infocom, which was phenomenally successful in the early and mid 1980s. The company made all-text games, called Adventure Games or Interactive Fiction, and at one point we had 5 of the 10 top-selling games in the U.S. Our most successful games were the "Zork" series, and a game based on "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", which I co-wrote with Douglas Adams based on his bestselling books. Back then, games were sold by copying the programs onto floppy disks, and putting those into shrink-wrapped boxes, and shipping them to stores all over the country. But our game boxes ... both to make the games a lot cooler, and also to act as a form of copy protection ... had all sorts of extras in the boxes. 3D comic books. Glow-in-the-dark stones. Decoder wheels. And so on. As we approached the big Christmas season of 1984, when most of our retails sales for the year would occur, the company that we used to put all our game boxes together just couldn't keep up with demand. So we organized we we called InfoProduction, getting teams of employees to take over their assembly lines on Saturdays and Sundays through the autumn, in order to put together enough game boxes to fill our orders. It was the amazingly fun and did a huge amount to build company spirit. 𝟐. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐅𝐮𝐧'𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐭 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞? It was absolutely creating the Library of Lost Words. Many casual games have what we call a "meta-game"... a wrapper around the core gameplay. But often that meta-game has little to do with the core gameplay. What does matching gems have to do with decorating a castle or a mansion, for example? But since the core gameplay of Wordscapes Solitaire was making words, then using them to fill books in the Library of Lost Words was a perfect meta-game companion. And coming up with hundreds of such books was a huge amount of work, but also really fun. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭? We're currently prototyping a number of innovative word game ideas, and testing them in various ways. The results are promising, but too early to talk about. #gamedev #mobilegames #culture #peoplefun #gaminglegends #wordscapessolitaire #

One month ago, we hosted WordscapesCon, our first-ever gathering of players in the office! We care deeply about our players, so we wanted to celebrate them and what makes our communities so special. It was a great opportunity to go behind the scenes, hear directly from players, and learn more about what is truly important to them. The day was packed with playtesting a new, upcoming feature, looks at the development process, insightful conversations, and even Wordscapes: The Game Show! Additionally, we are hiring!
