  • ⚠️ It’s March… Why are California employers already at risk for a Cal/OSHA violation? In case you missed it, there’s an early heat advisory  in Northern California, and it is a compliance trigger. With temperatures already reaching the mid-80s to 90s  (and over 100°F in parts of Southern California), to keep  waiting for “summer protocols” means to be already behind. So, what should California employers be doing right now? ✅ Audit Your Heat Illness Prevention Plan 𝗡𝗼 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻, 𝘂𝗽-𝘁𝗼-𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 = you’re exposed. ✅ Activate High-Heat Procedures Early Identify high-risk roles and tasks and modify  work schedules to reduce midday exposure. ✅ Create Real Cool-Down Access 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿: Shade is required at 80°F+ 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿: Cool-down areas must stay below 82°F ✅ Train Supervisors Like It’s a Liability Issue (Because It Is) Your frontline supervisors should be able to spot early signs of heat illness  immediately and trigger emergency response protocols confidently.   • FYI, your payroll provider doesn’t automatically “handle compliance.” What 𝗱𝗼 they do?  Calculate wages and file taxes. What 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 they always do?
