A fresh look at Aliso Viejo's new green bike lanes. As part of the City of Aliso Viejo's Safer Streets Program, RK prepared the Citywide Bike Lane Signing and Striping Modification Plans, which included bike lane treatments along major corridors throughout the City. The plans addressed both striping and signage, from green pavement treatments and bike lane markings to shared lane markings and supporting regulatory signs. These treatments give designated bicycle facilities added visual distinction, particularly at driveways, intersections, and other points where paths cross. Clear delineation helps communicate roadway use to everyone traveling through the community, on two wheels or four. It is rewarding to see plans move from design to implementation. RK is grateful for the opportunity to support the City of Aliso Viejo and its long-term mobility goals. 🚲 Have you seen the new green bike lanes around Aliso Viejo?

At RK, we live by 28 Fundamentals. This week's: Get the Facts. Effective solutions start with the right information. Before we draw conclusions, we ask questions, gather the details, and make sure we understand the full picture. If we don’t know the answer, we say so. Then we follow up and get the right information. It’s how we communicate clearly, make informed decisions, and build trust with our teams, clients, and partners. 👉 How do you make sure you have the full picture before making a decision?

Every intersection has unique traffic conditions, which is why traffic control decisions should be based on engineering analysis rather than assumptions. 🚦 National Stop on Red Week 🚦serves as a reminder that intersection safety depends on a combination of education, enforcement, and engineering. Before a traffic signal or stop control is installed, transportation engineers evaluate factors such as traffic volumes, roadway conditions, and crash history to determine whether additional traffic control is appropriate. At RK Engineering Group, we partner with communities throughout Southern California to prepare traffic signal warrant analyses and stop warrant analyses that support informed traffic control decisions. Thank you to the National Safety Council & National Coalition for Safer Roads for bringing attention to this important safety reminder. ➡️ Swipe through to learn more about how these engineering studies help guide intersection improvements. 🚦 What factors does your community consider when evaluating the need for new traffic control at an intersection?

At RK, we live by 28 Fundamentals. This week's: Share Knowledge and Be a Mentor. Information is one of our greatest assets. Hoarding it doesn't make anyone stronger. Sharing it does. We constantly ask ourselves: who else on the team could benefit from this? When we raise the knowledge level of everyone around us, we raise the quality of everything we produce. Find it. Share it. Use it. 👉 Who has been a mentor in your career, and how has that shaped the way you show up for others?
