Studies from Gallup and SHRM support that pay is not the primary reason most employees leave their jobs, and that most counteroffers don't address the root reason that the employee began looking elsewhere in the first place. Here are some things to consider when you are presented with a #counteroffer. https://lnkd.in/dK2axBVj Sources: https://lnkd.in/gzYhXMNu https://lnkd.in/gTtFd3TV

Small actions add up. At SkyWater, we look for simple, meaningful ways to make a positive impact. From participating in highway cleanups twice a year to hosting biannual clothing swaps, we focus on doing our part as a team. This video captures moments from our Earth Day clothing swap and highway clean up earlier this week, two of our favorite traditions. Our clothing swap keeps gently used items in circulation, reduces waste, and supports a more sustainable way of thinking about what we wear. Any items that are not claimed are donated to the Epilepsy Foundation. It is not about doing everything. It is about doing something, consistently. Happy #EarthDay.

Most counteroffers feel like validation. But they’re usually just a delay. When someone resigns and suddenly gets a raise, a new title, or more attention, it’s easy to feel seen and valued. But in many cases, that reaction is driven by urgency, not long-term intent. Here’s what we see time and time again: • The reasons you started looking don’t go away • Trust dynamics change, on both sides • The “fix” is often short-term, not structural And the data backs it up. A significant percentage of candidates who accept counteroffers are back on the market within a year, many within just a few months. If you’re in this position, it’s worth asking: 1.) Is this addressing the real reason I wanted to leave? 2.) Or just making it harder to move forward? Counteroffers can feel like a win in the moment. But long-term, they rarely change the outcome. Curious to hear from this group, have you ever accepted a counteroffer? How did it play out? More on why you should almost never accept a counteroffer. https://lnkd.in/dK2axBVj

Listening to Angela Davis on MPR News today, the conversation around mental health and job loss really stuck with us. In our work at SkyWater, we see how much of the job search is about more than just resumes and interviews. It’s confidence, identity, and momentum. Curious from this group:

Most job searches don’t stall because of a lack of effort. They stall because one piece is missing: visibility, credibility, or timing. Curious what you’re seeing in your own search right now. ⬇️ Vote in the poll If you want a quick breakdown of how these show up and what to do about them, we put together a short read here: https://lnkd.in/gN_sPNp7 #JobSearch #CareerGrowth #ExecutiveSearch #Hiring
