  • It's been a month since the GraphQL Summit in San Francisco! That fireside chat between Matt DeBergalis and Michael Grinich still stands out. Agents are coming fast, but scale only happens when the foundation is safe, semantic, and secure. Declarative schemas give agents the context to reason, act, and stay aligned. At Duality, that's where our focus lives. Schema-driven orchestration. Secure agentic workflows. Systems that move fast without breaking what matters. Speed isn't an accident. It comes from structure, clarity, and people bold enough to build differently. Curious how schema-driven design is shaping agentic automation? Drop your thoughts 👇 Proud to work alongside the teams at Apollo GraphQL and WorkOS pushing this conversation forward. #GraphQL #Supergraph #AIEngineering #AgenticWorkflows #SchemaDriven

In true San Francisco fashion, two founders shaping the modern developer stack, our own Matt DeBergalis and WorkOS's Michael Grinich took the stage to chart where APIs and MCP go next. “The future of MCP is GraphQL, and the future of GraphQL is MCP,” Matt said, describing how declarative schemas give agents the context to reason and stay on track. Michael brought the cautionary view. “If your agent deletes your production database, who’s responsible?” he asked. For him, agentic design starts with trust, tight permissions, scoped access, and human-in-the-loop controls. Their message was simple: agents are coming fast, but scale depends on foundations that are safe, semantic, and secure. Catch the full fireside chat from #GraphQLSummithttps://lnkd.in/e-wwd6Kf

  • The hype around federation is easy. What's not easy is delivery. Production success comes from the grind: client intake, backend operations, and project management that keeps everything on track long after the slides are put away. That's the part Duality does best. We make sure the strategy gets built, deployed, and working in the real world. Bold will hold. #GraphQL #Execution #Supergraph

  • Scaling from one subgraph to many is where scaffolding makes or breaks you. It's tempting to think you can just add another subgraph and keep going but the reality is that without a foundation of scaffolding (things like CI/CD pipelines, schema linting, or templates) the rollout becomes slow, inconsistent, and frustrating. Apollo GraphQL's guidance on scaling makes this point clear. We've seen it ourselves across clients: the third subgraph is often the one that stalls momentum if scaffolding isn't already in place. Duality brings patterns, frameworks, and the muscle memory of having done this many times before. That's how teams avoid slowing down when scaling really begins. #GraphQL #Scaling #Supergraph

  • Performance problems don't show up right away. They show up as graphs scale. When the number of subgraphs grows, the cracks start to appear. N+1 queries pile up, schema nesting quietly drags performance down, and authentication bottlenecks put pressure on infrastructure. Hygraph covered these pitfalls last winter (link in comments!), and we've seen them firsthand. The solution isn't glamorous, but it's necessary: identify the cracks early and fix them before they turn into outages. Duality is the crew that does that work. Not flashy, just vital. #GraphQL #Performance #Supergraph

  • The second subgraph problem... The first GraphQL subgraph always feels easy. The second one feels like three new problems rolled into one. Inconsistent schemas start creeping in, business logic gets duplicated in places it shouldn't, and ownership becomes unclear. This is where a lot of teams stall. Trying to rip the monolith apart overnight almost guarantees chaos. However, from what we've seen with our clients, taking it step by step, planning for incremental adoption, and giving teams time to align makes the difference between burnout and long-term success. Apollo GraphQL has long emphasized the importance of subgraph planning. We agree and we know the real challenge is both technical AND human. Duality helps teams navigate the messy realities of people, ownership, and decision-making so they can move from the first graph to the 10th with confidence. Speed at scale isn't an accident. It comes from discipline. #GraphQL #Supergraph #EngineeringLeadership

  • Duality be at the Apollo GraphQL Summit in San Francisco next month! Some of you might remember last year - two talks, a booth in the main hallway, and a whole lot of great new friends. This year, our team's been stretched across continents and client projects, so it made sense to keep this one simple: no stage, no booth, just good old-fashioned spectating. We're especially excited to hear from a few friends we made last year, including Andy Garcia and Erik Bylund on Schema Design at AI Speed and Arne Wieding on Delivering Faster Cross-Platform UX Iteration, but above all, we're looking forward to connecting with the folks pushing GraphQL forward, seeing what the ecosystem is buzzing about, and catching up with friends across the industry! If you're heading out for this one, let's grab a coffee and talk graphs!

  • The work behind the work. This week wasn't just about shipping code. It was about everything that keeps Duality running in the background while client delivery stays front and center. Managing active projects. Kicking off new engagements. Scoping future work. Keeping the systems, contracts, and people in sync so our engineers can focus on what they do best. It's not flashy, but it's what makes the graphs scale, the agents run, and the partnerships grow. That's the part of the job we don't talk about enough: the infrastructure of work itself… and it's as critical as the engineering on top of it. #ClientDelivery #ProjectKickoff #EnterpriseTech #Duality #OperationalExcellence

  • Two GraphQL platforms. One enterprise problem. Federation is how enterprises stitch dozens of services into one graph that product teams can actually use. It's the difference between “we have APIs” and “we can move fast with a single source of truth.” Apollo GraphQL GraphOS and WunderGraph Cosmo Connect are leading the charge. They give teams the infrastructure to manage federated GraphQL at scale. The big catch? Most enterprises aren't ready to take advantage of either great option. We've seen DIY gateways with broken auth. Orchestration layers held together with duct tape. Dev teams stuck burning cycles just to translate product asks into subgraph design. The full gamut of rookie (and not-so-rookie) mistakes a team can make. That's where Duality comes in. We help clients turn pilots and platforms into production reality. We bring the people, systems, and muscle memory to move from “we stood up a graph” to “this graph actually drives the business.” No fluff. No hand-waving. Just decades of combined hard-won experience. Proud to partner with every single org leading the charge on the real work. Curious what this looks like inside your org? Let's talk. #GraphQL #Federation #Supergraph #APIs #EnterpriseTech

Most AI projects don't start with models... they start with a mess. Before you can build, generate, or automate anything with AI, you need your data to make sense. That's the bottleneck for most enterprise teams. What's happening right now? 🚀 Internal APIs are fragmented, inconsistent, or undocumented 🚀 Data lives in dozens of places, often behind tribal knowledge 🚀 Engineers waste weeks plumbing instead of shipping GraphQL is the natural foundation for solving these problems. It gives AI systems the clean, structured schema they need to actually do their job. No guesswork. No chaos. Just composable, well-defined access to what matters. We've seen this firsthand. From data cleanup to agent orchestration, our work with some of the sharpest minds in the industry showed us just how much easier AI becomes when you lead with federation. That's where Duality comes in. We help teams build and deliver fast, governed, AI-ready GraphQL layers, whether they're on Apollo GraphQL, WunderGraph Cosmo, or rolling their own. Curious what it would take to get your stack AI-ready? Let's talk. #GraphQL #AIEngineering #Federation #EnterpriseAI #Supergraph
