New from UEG MENA: Sawsan Abdillahi shares why the future of entertainment partnerships isn’t about sponsoring culture—it’s about helping create it. Read below!
United Entertainment Group MENA's Sawsan Abdillahi shares her observations from brand and entertainment partnerships surrounding Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and explains why brands that win the next decade will not sponsor culture, but will help create it. "Driving back home from the cinema that evening, I realised I had spent almost three hours inside the world of Spider-Man. Only two and a half of them were inside the cinema. That is the shift. Not media buying; but building worlds that extend beyond the content. The region has already shown it can host the world’s biggest stories. The next chapter is making sure the brands that lead this region become part of them," says Abdillahi. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dz4htVWn

If Spider-Man is busy saving everyone's day, who is saving his day? 💔 Ahead of Spider-Man: Brand New Day's release, Samsung Electronics is launching a campaign in partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment to promote series 8 of its foldable Galaxy Z products—debuting an original story showing how its Galaxy Z Fold 8 can withstand the superhero’s lifestyle. The ad stars Jacob Batalon reprising his role as Spider-Man’s trusty sidekick Ned Leeds, while the actor behind the superhero’s mask is never revealed. Behind the scenes, Samsung turned to Marvel Entertainment alum Kasra Farahani, who worked on Thor and Captain Marvel, to direct the spot. “The most successful partnerships create stories fans genuinely want to experience, with technology integrated in ways that feel natural to the characters and stories they love,” said Keena Grigsby, CMO and VP of mobile experience at Samsung Electronics America. Proud to see our EMEA Managing Director, Paul Tremain, featured in The Drum, sharing his perspective on what it takes to create work that truly resonates. As Paul puts it: "Playing it safe is no longer enough. When you're brave enough to back culturally relevant ideas, you can create something bigger than a campaign: a cultural moment that drives outcomes."
