While speaking at the #NATOSpaceCOE Lt. Gen. Rick Zellmann, #USSPACECOM deputy commander, gave a keynote on "Capabilities and Approaches for Deterrence in Space." He emphasized the need to adapt our approach to deterrence and defense to meet the demands of a changing strategic environment. He provided operational requirements for effective deterrence, focusing on three pillars: the necessity of attribution, the imperative for comprehensive Space Domain Awareness, and the need to establish space warning timelines that mirror the effectiveness of the U.S. strategic missile warning systems.
