Last week, Christopher Gersch and Collin Ricker attended the 4th Annual Kellogg Climate Conference at Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management’s Global Hub, centered on the theme “Navigating Climate Leadership in a Time of Transition.” It was an inspiring day of conversations with business leaders, innovators, and change-makers, all aligned on accelerating the clean energy transition. 🏫 It’s always rewarding to see leaders give back where it all started. Proud to share that our very own Christopher Gersch was invited back to Township High School District 214 for the second year in a row as the keynote speaker at the Finance & Investing Competition. Chris spent time with students sharing his journey - from trading on the floor at the Chicago Board of Trade to leading multiple sustainable energy businesses today. He spoke candidly about the lessons learned along the way, the moments that shaped him, and what it truly takes to build a meaningful career. Students also had the opportunity to interview him and gain real-world insight into the path ahead. A big thank you to Dr. Lazaro Lopez and Robert Murphy for continuing to create opportunities like this, and for bringing Chris back to his roots. Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep’s solar project—developed and installed by Verde Solutions—was recently featured in the Chicago Tribune, highlighting the real impact clean energy can have on schools and communities: https://lnkd.in/eHdy_ZTG Since installation, the system has: ✅ Saved the school over $100,000 in electricity costs ✅ Reduced carbon emissions equal to taking thousands of cars off the road ✅ Powered roughly 40% of the school’s energy needs Even more meaningful, those savings are being reinvested into education, helping students and the next generation succeed. We were honored to have our leader Christopher Gersch serve as keynote speaker at the Forge Entrepreneurship Pitch Event, held at the Gies College of Business - University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Masters in Business Chicago Campus. It was a meaningful full circle moment for Chris, speaking in front of 26 teams representing University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Northwestern University, Purdue University, Washington University in St. Louis, DePaul University, Loyola University Chicago, University of Chicago and other outstanding schools, while sharing lessons on entrepreneurship, leadership, failure, character, and building a life that can actually carry success.
