VRNation is a nationwide organization committed to elevating the standards and success of the vacation rental industry.
About us
VR Nation is where serious short-term rental professionals become leaders in modern hospitality. What started as a small regional group has grown into a nationwide community of operators, hosts, and entrepreneurs who believe this industry can be better. Better standards, better experiences, and better support for the people doing the work every day. We bring together everyone from independent hosts to established property managers. What connects us is a shared mindset. We care about what we’re building, how we show up for our guests, and how we support each other along the way. VR Nation is not a marketplace. It is a community. Inside, you’ll find honest conversations, practical education, and people who are willing to share what’s working. No gatekeeping. No fluff. Just real operators learning and growing together. Once a year, we meet in person at our national conference. It is where relationships are built, ideas come to life, and the energy of this industry is felt in the room. The best operators do not build alone. They build with VR Nation.

Monday Ruminations "We will either get asked back every year or never again." That was our thought as we walked off the stage at VRMA Phoenix. We just spent the last 45 minutes in the most over the top - ambitious - loud - and slightly controversial session I think they had ever had. And we sure thought it was the latter - until Heidie Henriksen got the band back together with the Solutions Showcase - Main Stage - VRNation. PMS Software - Direct Booking Websites - Dynamic Pricing Tools - Franchises 4 times the knowledge - 4 seperate sessions - with the most comprehensive takeaways/comparisons for attendees in the industry. But here's what I want you to know. These sessions are a ridiculous amount of work. This year, times four. We start with the questions. Not random questions - the questions we believe property managers should actually be asking. We argue about them. We actually argue about them alot. Then we send them out and ask participants to answer them honestly. Then we chase them for answers. Herding cats is a real thing. We have proof. We check their answers. Ask for clarification. Vet them again. Send them to property managers to verify functionality. Then we have to take these enormous amounts of data and process them into something usable. Something that tells an actual story. something attendees can digest - make sense of - and use. And all of that happens before we put a single thought into how the actual presentation itself will go. And Alisa Justice, Linda (Hess) Sikes and I get paid exactly zero dollars for this. Not one cent. We do it because we genuinely care about giving property managers something real. Something that's not a sales pitch dressed up as a session. Something that's still useful six months after the conference ended and the lanyard is in a junk drawer. Just keep this in mind. Same three women. Same amount of work nobody sees. Just times 4 - in different outfits this year. You don't want to miss this. Don't have your ticket? get it here: https://lnkd.in/eCGG2P9v A special thank you to the companies for their willingness to participate and answer these really detailed questions - sessions like this is only as good as the vendors who are willing to fully participate. Big brands aren’t built by accident, and neither are standout STR businesses! Brian Smith, founder of UGG, is joining us at the VRNation Annual Conference to break down what great branding really looks like (and why it matters just as much in short-term rentals.) Because in a crowded market, your brand is what gets you chosen. Register here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gMcM4TkQ

Most STR operators are trying to grow from behind a screen. But some of the most valuable opportunities in this industry still happen in person — in rooms where conversations turn into partnerships, and partnerships turn into growth! In this episode, Heidie Henriksen shares why events remain one of the most overlooked advantages in short-term rentals, and how being present can accelerate your trajectory in ways digital channels can’t. Shoutout to Hostfully for producing the series! Watch the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/gGcePr4t

One of the biggest shifts in STR today isn’t demand, it’s accountability. In our latest episode of the VRNation Station Podcast, Pamela Knudsen of Avalara shares how evolving regulations are changing the way operators need to think about risk, systems, and long-term sustainability.
