  • Welcome to the team, Vineet Raman! Excited to have you on board!

Excited to share that I've recently joined WeaveGrid as an Associate Director of Strategic Partnerships. The power sector is facing massive load growth, and I believe demand flexibility is one of the most critical tools we have to keep up, while keeping rates affordable. I'm excited to help expand WeaveGrid's distribution-level approach to DER orchestration to tackle this moment head on. If you're working in demand flexibility, managed charging, or DER orchestration, let's connect!

  • Welcome to the WeaveGrid team, Cynthia Leung!

TLDR: I’m excited to share that I’ve joined WeaveGrid as the Director of Strategic Partnerships. What started as a coffee last July turned into something much bigger. Apoorv Bhargava and I first met in 2018, on opposite sides of a fun (for energy nerds) Saturday energy policy debate. I made my case and he delivered an exceptional rebuttal that won the room. I remember thinking then that he was someone to watch. Over the years, I followed the growth of WeaveGrid from afar. Last summer, we finally sat down to catch up. That conversation led to many more, including conversations with Siri Mu, Luna A., Dave Bend, Mathias Bell, Johnathon Fata, Zona Liu, Nicola Salzman, Galen Bertozzi, Brett Steudle, and my former SunPower colleague and early mentor, Kyle Garton. Each conversation reinforced the same thing. This is a company with strong leadership, a thoughtful and scalable solution, and a team of sharp and grounded people. I’ve been intentional about finding the right next step. If you’ve been following my journey, you’ll know that I often come back to one question: "What is the biggest impact I can make in sustainability?" I’ve also come to believe that the best opportunities aren’t forced. They align. As I spent more time with the team and others, who were familiar with WeaveGrid’s work, a clear picture emerged: WeaveGrid is building a critical piece of the future energy system. Grid orchestration sits at the intersection of distributed energy resources, utility distribution networks, and a more resilient and flexible energy future. I’m excited to step into my role as Director of Strategic Partnerships at WeaveGrid and to work alongside Mathias Bell, John Taggart, Christopher Hallas, Kendall Cody, Madeleine Farrington, Alex Slaymaker, Amelia Longo, Steve Taylor, and many others at the WeaveGrid team. There's a lot to build, and I can't wait to help WeaveGrid unlock the full potential of distributed energy resources across the grid.

  • We’re excited to announce our partnership with Synop to help utilities take advantage of the significant flexible capacity at commercial EV charging sites like fleet depots, workplaces, and other complex multi-asset sites at the distribution edge. Connecting Synop’s AI-enabled EMS and SynopLink™ site-level controller with WeaveGrid's DISCO software, utilities can now gain more granular visibility into commercial charging behavior and new tools to manage flexible load at the distribution level. At the same time, fleet operators and charging site owners get clearer pathways to participate in utility programs and unlock additional grid services revenue. Synop brings the fleet and site expertise; WeaveGrid handles the utility-side orchestration. This builds on DISCO's expansion beyond residential EVs to batteries and now complex commercial charging sites, including those with BESS, generators, and other behind-the-meter DERs. • For many EV drivers, the path to Level 2 home charging hits an unexpected wall: their electrical panel can't support it. ComEd’s recent Electric Vehicle Energy Management System (EV EMS) Pilot with WeaveGrid, Emporia, and Treehouse proves that you don’t need a new electrical panel to drive an EV and charge faster than a trickle at home. EMS technology dynamically manages EV charging to ensure the total household electricity load stays within safe limits, no expensive infrastructure upgrades required. The pilot found that it’s possible to reliably manage load within panel limits without sacrificing charging convenience. EMS alone isn't the whole picture, though. Pairing panel-level load management with active managed charging is what allows utilities to address constraints all the way from the service panel through distribution and the bulk system, and that's exactly how WeaveGrid was built to help. Huge shout out to Ana Villarreal and Tony Bustamante for bringing this pilot to life! • For years, the assumption has been that EV adoption was a problem utilities would have to manage their way through. Think overloaded transformers, unpredictable peaks, and expensive distribution upgrades. But when charging is orchestrated at the distribution level, EVs can: • Flatten local peaks on transformers and feeders  • Defer costly infrastructure upgrades  • Integrate with batteries and broader grid flexibility programs  • Deliver real, measurable grid value beyond just load shifting Turning that potential into reality requires: alignment across utility planning, operations, IT, and customer teams and partnerships with automakers and charging providers that utilities can actually trust. In the latest episode of Energy Central’s Power Perspectives, our Co-Founder and President John Taggart joins host Kinsey Grant Baker to make the case that EVs are not a liability, but rather one of the most powerful flexibility tools utilities have. • Big news! We’re teaming up with PowerFlex to help utilities unlock a powerful new source of grid-edge flexibility. With EV adoption accelerating and data centers driving unprecedented load growth, many utilities are facing capacity constraints at the distribution level. Traditional upgrades can be costly, and can’t always keep pace. That’s why expanding commercial managed charging is becoming essential. Through our partnership, WeaveGrid’s Distribution-Integrated System Capacity Orchestration (DISCO) platform and PowerFlex’s Adaptive Load Management® (ALM) technology are working together to orchestrate EV charging across large commercial sites. These locations can represent hundreds of megawatts of flexible, dispatchable capacity sitting behind the meter. By integrating our networks, utilities can: 👁️ Gain hyper-local visibility into flexible capacity 📈 Shape load intelligently at the charger, site, and grid level ⚡ Serve more EVs using existing infrastructure 🛠️ Defer costly upgrades while maintaining reliability 🤝 Engage commercial customers with programs that are measurable and financially rewarding Read more about the partnership in our blog post (link in the comments) and learn how to get started with commercial managed charging, grid-edge flexibility, and integrated DER orchestration in your service territory.

  • Welcome to the WeaveGrid team Christopher Hallas! We're thrilled to have you on board!

I’m incredibly excited to share that I’ve joined WeaveGrid on their mission to enable the energy transition - making electricity more reliable, affordable, and clean. One week ago, our little family boarded a plane headed back to California… with 28 bags, and our dog & cat. I’d be lying if I said there wasn’t some doubt and anxiety about moving our family given the uncertainty in the world right now… But it’s dwarfed by the excitement and gratitude I feel in meeting my incredibly bright new colleagues (Kendall, Cynthia, Madeleine, Nicola, John, Geoff to name a few). As a father, and a son, I’m energize by contributing to solving our energy challenges, in the best way I know how, and in the most innovative place in the world. I owe a huge thanks to so many who helped make this possible! Thank you Apoorv, Zona, and Mathias for the opportunity to be a part of the wonderful culture you’ve built at WeaveGrid. Thank you Dave for your help and guidance throughout the process. And thanks to my wonderful Microsoft colleagues (too many to name) for two great years in Lyngby! To any any old friends or colleagues in the Bay Area who want to reconnect… OR anyone wanting advice about moving a family internationally… OR if you’re just wondering why I’m holding a vase of tiny DISCO balls in this picture, shoot me a note!
