Trading cards just helped eBay post its biggest quarter ever. Here's what that means. $2,600,000,000 spent on trading card singles on eBay in 2025 alone. $233,000,000 in a single month. And this morning, eBay just dropped their Q1 2026 earnings — $22.2 billion in GMV, up 18%. Revenue up 19%. Collectibles weren't a passenger in those numbers. They led them. eBay called it out directly in their investor materials: trading cards were the top contributor to GMV growth in Q1. Their premium collectibles marketplace Goldin hit an all-time quarterly GMV record — anchored by a single $16.5 million Pokémon card sale. And their own language for the category? Durable. Structural. Those aren't marketing words. That's what analysts say when a trend has become load-bearing. I've been in this industry for many years. What we're watching right now isn't a bubble. It's a category that is finally being recognized for what it has always been: a real market, with real velocity, real infrastructure, and accelerating growth. The question now isn't whether this space is serious. That's settled. The question is who's building what comes next. https://lnkd.in/gJ5EZR8z
