I keep watching healthcare startups burn through billions making the exact same mistakes with the same pattern. And we keep repeating it. My sister Farah A. is a clinician. When I share startup opportunities with her, she can tell within minutes which founders have spent time in a clinic and which ones have never stepped foot in one. It's clear as day to many practitioners. The tech-first founders build beautiful software that ignores how medicine actually works. Fragmented EHRs. Billing nightmares. Liability landmines. Physicians running 12-hour days who don't have time for another dashboard. I've watched founders demo "revolutionary" platforms to doctors who nod politely. Then never log in again. The uncomfortable truth for founders: Your brilliant AI means nothing if it doesn't fit into a reimbursable structure. Companies burn hundreds of millions assuming Medicare will eventually pay. They rarely do without years of evidence most startups can't survive long enough to generate. The uncomfortable truth for VCs: We keep funding the same pattern.
