Global freight shipping is a multi-trillion-dollar industry built on unenforceable contracts. Carriers face no-show rates that can exceed 30%, while shippers are forced into the volatile spot market to move their goods. Enter Laneway. Laneway is building a technology platform that aligns economic incentives for both carriers and shippers by turning freight inventory (space on ships, trucks, and trains) into a tradable asset, what Laneway calls “Allocation Equivalent Units." We believe this is a generational opportunity, led by the right founder: Andrew Petrisin. Formerly the Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. DOT, Andrew knows exactly how to coordinate the industry’s most influential players. Commonweal Ventures is proud to be the first to back his vision. Read the full exclusive in the Journal of Commerce at the link in the comments.

Seth Levine nailed it! The concentration problem isn't just a GP pain point... it's choking innovation. When capital pools around the same 20 funds, emerging managers and founders get shut out. Love that he's using his platform to call this out. Foundry has backed 50+ emerging managers. That's the diversification the ecosystem needs. This is exactly why Carta exists — making capital allocation visible and accessible. Capital Evolution hits at exactly the right moment. Thanks for having us Daniel Dart. Team Carta loves the community of FUTURE TITANS you have built 🚀

Powerful work here. The 18-month CRO tenure stat is eye-opening and is surely a strategic misalignment problem. The shift from "which AI tool" to "what should be human-led vs. AI-led" is the exact reframe revenue leaders need right now. That's a strategy question that separates operators from order-takers. Excited to dig into the Six Traits framework. If GTM Operating Partners across top-tier funds are converging on common patterns, that's a signal worth heeding.

Here’s the thing… Brightpick partnering with NAPA Auto Parts isn’t some flashy robotics headline. https://lnkd.in/gB_Z7VzG It’s practical. It’s about efficiency. It’s about safety. It’s about building a warehouse that actually works under pressure. Robots handle the repetitive picking. Humans handle the judgment calls. Perception systems make sure everything sees what it needs to see. That’s the hybrid model. Not “robots vs people.” Not hype. Not full autonomy just because it sounds cool. A system where: • Throughput increases • Injuries decrease • Accuracy improves • People focus on higher-value work That’s the win. The future warehouse isn’t all human or all robot. It’s the right blend of automation, perception, safety systems, and human intervention working together. That’s when operations scale without breaking. #WarehouseAutomation #Robotics #SupplyChain #IndustrialAI #Safety #Logistics

This is it: the recipe for top 1% success. “Raise your hand for the hard assignments. Build teams stronger than yourself. Know your blind spots. Be a team player in the truest sense—not just with your direct reports, but across the organization.” — Erin Brewer

2025 was the year autonomous trucking became real. We moved from promise to commercial reality with driverless operations on public highways, hundreds of thousands of autonomous miles, and a safety record that reflects years of disciplined engineering and teamwork. I’m incredibly proud of the Aurora team — and this is just the foundation for what’s coming in 2026.

I’ve been talking with founders about how painful enterprise customization still is — even in 2025. David Dworsky and Gordon Ritter just put words to what we’ve been seeing: the age of point-and-click configuration is ending, and the next category winners will make customization conversational. For early-stage founders, this is the wedge: - Own one painful workflow - Capture the data - Build toward becoming a system of record If you’re building in this space, I’d love to hear how you’re approaching it. Link to the full article on this in the comments.

What kind of mindset does it take to go from building data systems at Palantir, to leading engineering at Komodo Health, to becoming CEO of Particle Health – and suing one of healthcare’s largest incumbents? Jason Prestinario is a First Builder through and through. As CEO of Particle Health, his mission is to fix patient data interoperability, so your primary care doctor, specialist, and surgeon can all make decisions using the same complete health record. What a concept, right? And yet, it’s far from reality. That’s why Jason and the team at Particle are now suing Epic, one of the industry’s largest incumbents, to push for real change. We talked about how he approaches challenges of this scale, and what keeps him grounded in the process. We sat down with Jason to talk about this and much more. Hope you'll enjoy this spicy and insightful episode! Link in comments 🌶️ 👇

We’re excited to announce our partnership with Ben Seidl and the entire Autolane team! Autolane is building the operating system for the autonomous era — tackling the “last 50 feet” problem by providing autonomous vehicles with the coordination and real-world instructions they need upon arrival. Their platform orchestrates arrivals, authenticates access, manages parking, and enables seamless operations in high-traffic environments like shopping centers and mixed-use properties. Already live at Simon Property Group locations and delivering measurable improvements in curbside flow, Autolane is solving a critical bottleneck to the adoption of autonomous mobility at scale. 🚨NEW EPISODE: Recorded live at FUTURE TITANS 2026 - Jeff Perry of Carta sat down with the iconic Seth Levine, co-founder of Foundry. Seth has been in venture for 25 years, built Foundry from scratch as an emerging manager himself, and has backed about 50 emerging manager funds through his fund of funds. He has genuinely seen every side of this table. They went deep on building Foundry, why VCs are in the influence business, not the decision business, and why the concentration problem in venture is not only bad for LPs, but also for the innovation ecosystem overall. And why Seth's new book, Capital Evolution, is so important for the future of America. 🎧 Links to listen... Apple: https://lnkd.in/ehQUQ2EM Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eU4FExpg

This past episode of the jason cavness experience with Robert Masse, Founder of Astrolabe Analytics, hits even harder now given where battery technology and global supply chains are heading. Robert is building software that makes battery-powered fleets safer, longer-lasting, and more efficient work backed by the U.S. Air Force and the National Science Foundation. In this conversation, we unpacked: • How he turned a PhD in Materials Science into a startup • The real implications of LFP and sodium-ion batteries • Cobalt mining and geopolitical supply chain pressure • Predictive analytics for battery health and failure prevention • Battery recycling and second-life strategy • Founder pivots, storytelling, and customer discovery • Where the global battery market is actually going If you’re thinking about energy, AI, defense, or mobility this episode connects more dots than most headlines do. go to the comments for the full talk #BatteryTechnology #EnergyStorage #CleanTech #StartupJourney #FleetManagement

Reshoring manufacturing to the U.S. hinges entirely on advances in automation and robotics—and those advances, in turn, rely on next-generation tools like integrated development environments, foundation models, smart robotics skills, and flexible automation platforms. This isn’t merely an incremental shift; it’s the next industrial revolution. I estimate it will unlock up to $30 trillion in GDP over the next decade, as countries compete fiercely for leadership. Eclipse is our time!
