Work to build the new Siemens Mobility high speed rail manufacturing facility in Horseheads is progressing. The building is located at the Southern Tier Logistics Business Park.Construction on the exterior of the $55 million, 300,000 square feet building is expected to be completed by March. The full facility will be completed in the fall. Siemens officials say it will be used to construct the the fastest passenger trains made to date in the United States. Mayor Kevin Adams says the Village of Horseheads is 100% committed to supporting the project. "It's been wonderful, as a resident here for my 40 years of existence, this is the first time ever people have multiple job opportunities here, it's a wonderful problem to have," said Adams. Once construction is completed, the facility will be used to build train-sets for Brightline West. The first completed set is expected by early 2027. The building will also likely be the manufacturing site for California high-speed rail's train-sets. https://lnkd.in/eB7KXz6b

It feels like a large volume of the "work" in healthcare supply chain departments is just trying to clear the deck of invoice exceptions. Usually, that means a lot of manual triage and a resolution cycle that can drag on for months or more. Baptist Health South Florida took a look at that 60-day+ average and decided to automate away the noise instead of accepting the "invisible leakage" problem with invoice match exceptions. The results are pretty impressive: - They cut that 60-day resolution window down to just 10 days. - Turned invoice exceptions into multi millions of dollars in savings. - Most importantly, they actually freed up their team to focus on strategy instead of chasing data. It’s a solid reminder that sometimes the best way to "find" more time in the day is to fix the workflow that’s eating it.
