Top-down C-level management, deliberate tracking of lack of AI usage, and shaming for not adopting or using AI pose significant cultural challenges that create fear and, separately, a substantial security challenge. This pressure accelerates the adoption of non-approved AI solutions. Unless your developers are confined to no internet usage, you can assume they are now resorting to the last AI-free services your company lacks legal contracts with. In the worst case scenario, they may be using your data to develop or test these non-approved solutions. Developers require training and guardrails, while the security AI team needs to review, build, and support approved solutions. Leadership should encourage the safe adoption of only approved AI solutions.
