The part worth studying is how it got there. DLR Group leads architecture, planning, interiors, and engineering coordination on the 242,000-SF development near The Ohio State University: 186 units, 493 beds, delivering for the 2027 school year. Crews are erecting two and a half floors every two to three weeks, a pace that holds only when the design resolves before the timber ships: https://lnkd.in/eSjmdqpt Senior Associate and Project Architect Cameron Jacobson, AIA, CDT, laid out the mechanics for INFORMED INFRASTRUCTURE: the structural design, the prefabricated timber system, and the digital coordination that kept architects and engineers solving the same problem instead of trading drawings across a wall. Mass timber rewards teams built this way. Columbus is the proof.

Windermere High School

Windermere High School provided a new 380,000 SF educational facility for the Orange County Public School district.
Constructed on approximately 65 acres, the campus includes new classrooms, Admin, Media, Cafeteria, Auditorium, Music, Gymnasium and Athletic facilities.
The school includes state of the art technology and collaborative labs to support multiple teaching modalities.
My role on the project was Project Manager /Architect of Record.
What I learned:

What I learned:
As this project went through a controversial rezoning process and legal agreement with the local municipality, I learned that when the dust settles, architecture and schools can bring a community together.
