Santosh Janardhan shared thisIf you want to get a sense of how fast the AI infrastructure landscape is moving, consider this: 18 months ago, we broke ground on Hyperion, our data center campus in Richland Parish, Louisiana. Today, we’re scaling it from 2GW to 5GW. Our total investment has reached over $50 billion. When fully built, it will be one of the largest data center campuses ever constructed. But scale alone isn’t the point. What matters is how you build it, and who you build it with. Since construction began, more than $1.6 billion in contracts have gone to Louisiana businesses. Teachers in Richland Parish recently received bonus checks of more than $50,000 as a result of increased tax revenue. A $5M donation to Louisiana Delta Community College will provide every local high school graduate, starting with the class of 2026, a full scholarship toward a data center trade certificate. Once operational, the site will provide more than 1,000 jobs in a community of 20,000 people. On the energy and engineering side: our agreement with Entergy is expected to deliver more than $2 billion in savings to local customers while funding new generation and 2.5 GW of clean and renewable energy. Meta covers the full cost of the energy the data center uses so local residents’ rates are not affected. The campus uses a closed-loop, liquid-cooled system, a cooling design that uses zero water for the majority of the year. requiring no net water consumption for the majority of the year, The water that will be used for our Richland Parish data center cooling needs is 100% non-potable water — drawn from a non-potable aquifer avoiding impacts to community drinking water systems. We are also investing over $340 million in water and wastewater infrastructure which directly benefits the community, and we will restore over 1 billion gallons per year to local watersheds through Meta funded restoration projects.and we’re building a dedicated water treatment plant with the local municipality so the site’s needs do not compete with the community’s. AI infrastructure at this scale must be built with genuine partnership with the communities that host it. In Richland Parish, that’s exactly what we’re doing. Santosh Janardhan shared this🇮🇳 Meta's First Data Center in India Today we're announcing something I've been incredibly excited about for a while: Meta is bringing its first AI-enabled data center in Jamnagar, India, developed by Reliance Industries Limited India is home to one of our largest and fastest-growing communities in the world. Hundreds of millions of people across the country use WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook every single day. India's digital economy is growing fast and its developer and enterprise ecosystem is thriving. As we continue to build and deploy AI experiences at scale — and work toward delivering personal superintelligence — investing in infrastructure in India is a critical next step. This is a significant milestone in our global infrastructure expansion. Reliance is developing one of the largest data center campuses in Jamnagar, with access to renewable energy and desalinated seawater that can support advanced, AI-enabled infrastructure. What makes this moment especially meaningful is the arc of the partnership itself. What began in 2020 with a landmark $5.7 billion investment in Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) has evolved into something much more comprehensive, spanning connectivity, commerce, AI innovation, and now the physical infrastructure that powers the technologies that serve billions of people worldwide. We're also separately announcing nearly 1 GW of new clean and renewable energy in India through agreements with CleanMax and Fourth Partner Energy. Coupled with Reliance's commitment to support the Jamnagar data center with renewable power, these agreements represent a meaningful commitment to India's clean energy ecosystem and are consistent with our goal of matching our global operations with 100% clean and renewable energy. Together, these investments represent a deep and comprehensive international partnership, and a strong commitment to India's role in the global technology ecosystem. For me personally, this one hits different. India is where I grew up. It's where I learned to build things. Seeing Meta invest in the infrastructure that will power India's AI future, and doing it with partners who share our long-term vision, is genuinely exciting. Santosh Janardhan shared thisIf you want to understand the scale of what's happening in American infrastructure right now, consider this: the U.S. has a shortage of hundreds of thousands of construction and trade workers, and we need half a million electricians over the next few years just to build out data centers alone. That’s not it - We need fiber technicians. We need pipefitters, welders, mechanical specialists, and carpenters. We are in the middle of the largest infrastructure buildout in a generation. Meta and our peers across the industry are investing hundreds of billions of dollars to build AI infrastructure that will power the American economy for decades. But all of that investment means nothing if we don't have the skilled tradespeople to build it. Today we're announcing America's Workforce Academy, a new national initiative to train workers for careers in data center construction and the skilled trades. The model is simple: Meta pays for everything (tuition, airfare, lodging, daily stipend), graduates receive a job offer before training begins, and the credential they earn is portable across the entire infrastructure sector. No experience required. No cost to participate. A guaranteed path to a real career. We're launching in Louisiana, Ohio, Indiana, and Texas in 2026, partnering with Associated Builders and Contractors and CBRE to deliver this at scale. In our first year, we expect to extend approximately 3,300 job offers to graduates. But this isn't a challenge any one company can solve. The demand for skilled workers will only accelerate as AI infrastructure, energy systems, and industrial capacity expand across the country. We're calling on our industry peers to join us. Building the physical infrastructure for AI is one of the most important things happening in technology today. Compute is now a competitive differentiator — a make-or-break capability for any company serious about building AI at scale. That's why I'm excited to share that Meta has signed an agreement with AWS to deploy Graviton processors at scale — starting with tens of millions of cores, with the flexibility to grow. This makes Meta one of the largest Graviton customers in the world. Thank you Matt Garman and team for the great collaboration on this. This deal reflects a few things we've been building toward: → Diversifying our compute. We're building a heterogeneous fleet of silicon matched to the right workloads. Graviton is an ideal fit for the CPU-intensive work behind agentic AI. → Efficiency at every layer. Graviton5 is built on 3nm technology, delivering up to 25% better performance than the previous generation — stronger compute with leading energy efficiency. As we scale to tens of gigawatts of capacity, the efficiency of every chip matters. Santosh Janardhan shared thisYesterday we shared that Meta is partnering with Arm to develop a new class of CPUs built for the AI era. We saw a need for an Arm solution purpose-built for our infrastructure and so we co-developed one to accelerate our workloads and optimize performance across our family of apps. Through this collaboration, we’ll develop multiple generations of cutting-edge CPUs. The release, Arm AGI CPU, is Arm’s first data center CPU designed to deliver better performance per rack than legacy CPUs. The compute capacity growth we are working toward demands a portfolio approach–and as we’ve shared, our strategy will not rely on a single technology or architecture. This partnership is part of our growing silicon portfolio alongside our MTIA roadmap. I’m also proud that our board and rack designs for this CPU will be contributed to Open Compute Project Foundation later this year– because we believe this work should benefit the ecosystem at large. Santosh Janardhan shared thisThis morning, we shared an update on our Meta Training & Inference Accelerator (MTIA) roadmap with four successive generations. MTIA 300, already in production, is supporting core ranking and recommendations training. MTIA 400, 450, and 500 are designed to handle GenAI inference production through 2027 and beyond. Each new generation brings significant improvements in compute, memory bandwidth, and efficiency. And because of our modular design, new chips drop right into the same rack infrastructure, accelerating our time-to-production. Here's the reality: No single chip can meet all our needs. We're deploying a variety of chips, each optimized for different demands. AI models are evolving faster than traditional chip development cycles. Rather than placing a long-term bet on a single design, we iterate — each chip incorporates the latest workload learnings and gets to production faster. It's a fundamentally different way to build silicon. This portfolio approach is what allows us to innovate at an unmatched pace—rolling out powerful, efficient hardware co-designed with our software to handle massive growth. It's foundational work that isn't always visible, but it's what enables us to keep improving AI experiences for the billions of people who use Meta's products every day. Santosh Janardhan shared thisToday, I’m excited to share that Meta is deepening our partnership with AMD to help us rapidly scale our AI infrastructure. Lisa Su and her team have been great partners and we are taking this one step further. This collaboration will bring up to 6GW of AMD Instinct GPUs into our data centers, enabling us to scale and accelerate our AI innovation at an unprecedented level. We partnered closely with AMD to co-design end-to-end, from the chip to the rack, optimizing for performance per watt and per dollar. Working with AMD is one of the several ways we’re expanding our AI compute resources. By diversifying our partnerships and technology stack, we’re building a more resilient infrastructure that can adapt quickly as workloads evolve. The future of AI cannot be defined by models alone– it will be defined by the infrastructure that powers them at scale. That’s why we launched Meta Compute last month: a top-level initiative to ensure Meta can deliver world-class AI to billions of people, now and for years to come. Given the scale of our business and our products, no single chip can meet the demands of building personal superintelligence. This data center – the 27th in our U.S. fleet – marks a $10 billion investment in the region, and a facility engineered to deliver scale and flexibility, supporting both our rapidly advancing AI workloads and core products. AI is driving a new wave of skilled jobs, boosting productivity, and unlocking growth for businesses of all sizes. As this technology evolves, we’re seeing its impact ripple across industries—from accelerating scientific breakthroughs to making everyday life more efficient and meaningful. As compute demands continue to grow, gigawatt-scale sites like Lebanon are essential to achieving our capacity goals, and enable higher bandwidth, lower latency, and improved reliability across Meta’s platforms. Beyond the technical innovation, this project will support thousands of construction jobs and hundreds of operational jobs. Santosh Janardhan shared thisToday marks a historic day for Meta and for the future of clean energy in the US: We announced agreements with three companies for up to 6.6 GW of clean, reliable nuclear energy. Scaling advanced nuclear power is no easy feat, however the announcements we made today mark a pivotal step forward. Through agreements with Vistra Corp., Oklo Inc and TerraPower, we will extend the life of three nuclear power plants, accelerate development of new reactor technologies, and support thousands of skilled jobs. These agreements amount to one of the most significant corporate purchases of nuclear energy in America. As we look forward toward our AI ambitions and the amount of compute we will bring online over the next few years, innovation at this scale requires a robust energy pipeline. Nuclear offers a clean, reliable carbon-free solution. The agreements we announced today will help create a more reliable electric grid and power American communities and our industry-leading data centers - all while creating American jobs and advancing our country's leadership in AI. I'm proud of the nuclear RFP process that our team ran over the past year, soliciting submissions from developers across the country in an effort to bring this energy online. We look forward to working closely with Vistra, Oklo, and Terrapower to advance these projects and bring more nuclear energy onto the grid. After more than nine years as EVP and Chief Business Officer of @Micron Technology, I am stepping out of my role and into a Senior Advisor role to our CEO for the next few months. Leading Micron's business units, company P&L, customer partnerships, corporate strategy and business development, product roadmaps and global communications & marketing has been the thrill of a lifetime. I am proud of the incredible team we built. Not just world-class talent, but genuinely wonderful human beings, many of whom I have had the personal pleasure to get to know really well. To my business organization staff – thank you for making work an absolute joy. It has been an honor to be part of this team. Here is the scoreboard from June 2017 to today. I had a front-row seat, and it was the Micron team that delivered the outcomes: • Revenue: from a ~$20B annualized run rate to $200B (~$50B in latest quarterly guidance) • Operating margin: 81% last quarter (non-GAAP) • The best financial performance among our peers, and now one of the world's most profitable companies • From a lagging product portfolio to the industry's best across HBM, DRAM and NAND • Broad design wins across every key customer, in every segment • 16+ long-term supply agreements (SCAs), which are among the largest commercial contracts anywhere in the world, with $22B+ in upfront cash/commitments • "Intelligence Accelerated" is now indelibly part of Micron's identity • Company valuation: from ~$35B to nearly $1.4 trillion (June 2026): almost 40x A historic AI wave helped. Tens of thousands of Micron team members worldwide executed brilliantly to catch it. But the best part was never the numbers. It was the people. It was the standing-room-only "Ask Me Anything" sessions in Boise, Taiwan, India, Singapore and beyond. Sharp questions, incredible team member feedback, and a warmth I will always cherish. To our customers: thank you for your trust, your partnership, and for holding us to a very high bar, occasionally on very short notice. To the Micron team: you are the best. Your innovation, tenacity and teamwork have put this company on a terrific trajectory, and I will be rooting for you always. Live long and prosper! As for what comes next: I plan to take real time off, recharge, spend unhurried time with family, and then contemplate a new opportunity. In addition to SpaceX, I continue to serve on the Boards of leading public companies: Block, Ethos, MongoDB, Natera, and Unity Software. I also work closely with the visionary founders of several emerging private companies. Given the amount of time that I need to devote to these companies, and my own continued new investment activity, I recently concluded my transition from Sequoia Capital. Over my nearly 24 years at Sequoia, I was fortunate to lead investments in iconic founder-led companies like YouTube, Instagram, Block, MongoDB and Natera. Beyond just leading investments, what brought me joy was building long-term relationships with founders and management teams, and helping with the arc of company building. Similarly, what I’m most proud of about my time at Sequoia was the way in which we developed our distinct culture, thoughtfully recruiting and nurturing a next generation of investors. We leveraged each other as we pursued opportunities, and we made investments as a team, ensuring that all of us felt ownership and accountability for our decisions. Sequoia is a truly special firm, and I know that with its winning team, the partnership’s future is bright. From puppyhood through adulthood, this next chapter is about helping dog parents navigate socialization challenges, connect with other dog parents and pups, and find the local resources and support they need along the way. What makes me most proud is the trust and positivity our community has built on DogHood. Seeing dog parents support one another, share experiences, and form genuine connections has always been at the heart of what we’re building. Santosh Janardhan reacted on thisSantosh Janardhan reacted on thisI have some big news to share. Today I'm excited to announce that I'm becoming Meta's first Chief Data Officer. Over the last few years I've had the privilege of leading both Marketing and Analytics. As AI has accelerated, I've become increasingly convinced that data, research and experimentation are going to continue be some of the most important strategic capabilities for every company but they need to be transformed. AI is creating effectively unlimited demand for insights, while the traditional ways we generate those insights are reaching their limits. My focus in this new role will be helping transform how Meta learns and makes decisions in the AI era. That starts with building better data foundations, but extends all the way through AI-powered analytics, experimentation, research and decision-making. We've already made exciting progress—from Analytics Agent, now the most widely used AI agent inside Meta, to foundational work modernizing our analytics infrastructure—but I believe we're only at the beginning of what's possible. I'm incredibly excited (and, if I'm honest, a little nervous—which I think is healthy) to focus fully on this mission. The impact of AI will only be as good as the data, experimentation and scientific rigor behind using it, and I believe helping build that foundation is one of the most important opportunities in front of us. As such I also get to celebrate some of the best news of my career here too which is Denise Moreno becoming our Chief Marketing Officer. Denise is my colleague and friend of 17years. She stood in for me when I spent two months at trial in DC last year and proved as interim CMO that she would be an amazing CMO full stop. I have so many plaudits to raise for her, she has been my quiet right hand on growth driving our promotions of products from Glasses to threads and transforming our ecommerce capabilities as a company. It means a lot to me my closest partner in this marketing journey is taking on the CMO role as I step into my new role. I couldn’t have succeeded without her steady hand and support. Over the past 20+ years I have worked as a software developer/engineer/coder, engineering team lead, technical manager, platform architect, VP engineering, and technology executive. As a coder and software thinker I tackle and enjoy the challenges and complexities of architectures, systems, scaling problems, bug chasing (and hopefully prevention in the first place - easier said than done!). <br><br>As an avid chess player I enjoy strategy. Picking the right person for the role or picking the right technology approach, thinking about what will happen in response to your choice, how you will respond, how the opponent will respond (even if the 'opponent' is just the circumstances/limitations, budgetary or otherwise). Making good decisions basically.<br><br>Most of all, I always enjoy working with fun, smart, people.<br><br>My career path has been as follows:<br><br>As a consultant working on PKI systems I built systems for banks and financial institutions, building client-server certificate-based authentication mechanisms (involving innovative browser technologies), X509, mutual-auth SSL, CAs.<br><br>Then I was part of a ~20 person engineering team that laid the foundations for Currenex, a currency trading startup that was later acquired for $564mil. I did similar work there, centered on security and integration of external trading platforms.<br><br>Moving on to Sony I applied my knowledge of crypto systems in the realm of digital media. For the first 5 years I worked on two video/photo services, a music service and then some products that bridged the gap between physical and digital media. I learned a lot about scalability, complex distributed systems, Java, SQL, audio & video transcoding, DRM, client-side browser technologies.<br><br>After Sony I went to the B2B side working on various projects for Verizon Digital Media Services, who were at the time providing infrastructure to media content and technology companies. The three main platforms I was involved with were Edgecast, Uplynk and Volicon. Mainly the latter two. Uplynk is an industry-leading video streaming platform. The unit was sold off by Verizon and is now called Edgio.<br><br>After that I was head of Engineering for two major video platforms, first Pluto TV (I joined just before ViacomCBS' acquisition and led Engineering during the period of growth from $100m rev. a year to over a billion). Next I built a video streaming platform from scratch for TelevisaUnivision in under a year. The platform now generates pretty high revenue and works fantastically. <br> <br>Interested in looking for new opportunities, whether in video streaming or not...
