Step into a pivotal HR leadership role where you’ll shape people strategy, drive organizational performance, and be a trusted partner to senior leaders. This is an opportunity to help drive the HR agenda for a growing division of a global diversified industrial, building a high-performing, engaged workforce while ensuring robust compliance and consistent, fair practices.


About the Role:

As the Human Resources Director for this division, you will lead the strategic and operational HR function, aligning people plans with business objectives. You will partner closely with leadership to anticipate workforce needs, manage change, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Your work will directly impact talent quality, employee engagement, and the division’s long-term growth.


Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and execute strategic HR plans that align with division goals, including workforce planning, talent pipelines, and succession strategies.

* Lead and manage all talent acquisition activities for permanent roles, ensuring efficient, high-quality hiring processes and strong employer branding.

* Oversee performance management cycles, including goal setting, reviews, and development planning, ensuring consistency and manager capability.

* Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, conducting investigations, resolving conflicts, and advising leaders on fair, compliant outcomes.

* Design, implement, and update HR policies and procedures to reflect best practice and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.

* Drive organizational development and change initiatives, including restructures, and process improvements to support business transformation.

* Coach and advise managers and leaders on people management, engagement, and team effectiveness, building leadership capability across the division.

* Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. Finance, Operations, Legal) to ensure HR initiatives are integrated, data-driven, and aligned with business priorities.


Key Requirements:

* Proven experience in a Human Resources Manager or senior HR generalist role supporting a business division or similar organizational unit.

* Demonstrated expertise in strategic HR planning, workforce planning, and aligning HR initiatives with business objectives.

* Strong track record in employee relations management, including investigations, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution.

* Hands-on experience managing full-cycle recruitment and talent acquisition for professional and permanent roles.

* Solid background in performance management, including frameworks, tools, and manager coaching.

* In-depth knowledge of HR policy development and implementation within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.

* Thorough understanding of US labor law and regulatory compliance, particularly at federal and state levels.

* Proven ability to lead and support change management initiatives, including communication, stakeholder engagement, and risk mitigation.

* Strong interpersonal, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner effectively with senior leaders.


Desirable Skills:

* Experience in organizational development, including culture initiatives, competency frameworks, and team effectiveness programs.

* Background in designing and delivering leadership development or manager training.

* Familiarity with HR analytics and using HR data to inform decision-making and measure impact.

* Experience in a multi-site or matrixed environment with diverse employee groups.

* Proficiency with HRIS platforms and related HR technology tools.


Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

* Professional HR certification (e.g. SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR) preferred.

* Additional training or certification in employee relations, organizational development, or change management is an advantage.
