Job Title: Elective Teacher – Character Education & STEM
Location: Intercoastal Campus, Jacksonville, FL
Job Type: Full-Time | 10-Month Contract
Salary: Starting at $49,500 (based on experience)
Job Summary-
Global Leadership Academy is seeking a dynamic and innovative Elective Teacher to lead instruction in both Character Education and STEM at our Intercoastal Campus. The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging, hands-on STEM activities while also supporting the development of strong character, leadership skills, and positive decision-making.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities-
Plan and deliver engaging elective instruction in Character Education and STEM for K–8 students (as assigned)
Teach social-emotional learning, leadership skills, and positive behavior strategies
Design hands-on STEM lessons that promote creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration
Integrate technology, engineering, and science concepts into project-based learning activities
Support a positive school culture through character development initiatives
Manage classroom behavior and maintain a structured, engaging learning environment
Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet diverse needs
Collaborate with teachers, staff, and administration to support student success
Participate in school events, STEM showcases, and professional development
Minimum Qualifications-
Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM-related field, or related discipline
Valid Florida Teaching Certificate (or eligibility to obtain)
Experience working with students in educational or enrichment settings
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in STEM education, robotics, coding, or engineering activities
Background in social-emotional learning or character education
ESOL Endorsement
Work Schedule-
Monday through Friday
8-hour shift
