A well-established aerospace and defense organisation supporting long-term NASA and complex space programs is seeking an Opto-Mechanical Engineering Manager to join its growing team in San Diego.
This is a hands-on leadership role, suited to someone who enjoys balancing technical ownership with team development.
The Role:
• Lead opto-mechanical development across complex aerospace programs
• Manage a small team of engineers while remaining technically involved
• Own key technical decisions and contribute to proposals and customer discussions
• Work across high-reliability hardware systems
About You:
• Mechanical Engineering background with strong optical systems experience
• Experience delivering complex aerospace or precision hardware systems
• Previous team leadership experience
• Proficient in SolidWorks or Creo
• Space experience preferred, aerospace or automotive lidar backgrounds also considered
