The Resident provides medical care to patients under the direction of the attending physician and according to established policies and practices. This position provides teaching to other residents and students.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited medical school.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Eligible for New Jersey licensure after satisfactory completion of the residency program. American Heart Association ACLS-- Required upon hire and to be maintained through residency training, NRP -- Required within 1 year of hire or transfer (one-time requirement).
EXPERIENCE: Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the competencies as established by the residency program.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous substances, and potential injury.

This position reports to the Director of Medical Education.
