Financial Controller

Position SummaryThe Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance. This role ensures the integrity of financial data, supports strategic decision-making, and manages the day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger, financial reporting, payroll oversight, budgeting, and audit coordination.The Controller will work closely with executive leadership to support financial planning, improve operational efficiency, and maintain compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & ReportingOversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and fixed assetsPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsEnsure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processesMaintain compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirementsAnalyze financial performance and provide insights to executive leadershipBudgeting & ForecastingLead the annual budgeting and forecasting processMonitor financial performance against budget and identify variancesDevelop financial models to support strategic planning and operational decisionsProvide financial guidance to department leaders and project managersInternal Controls & ComplianceEstablish and maintain strong internal control proceduresEnsure compliance with tax regulations, financial policies, and company proceduresCoordinate internal and external auditsManage preparation for financial audits, tax filings, and regulatory reportingCash Flow & Financial StrategyMonitor company cash flow, liquidity, and working capitalOversee banking relationships and financial transactionsAssist executive leadership with financial planning, capital allocation, and investment analysisLeadership & Team ManagementLead and mentor the accounting teamDevelop and implement accounting policies and proceduresCoordinate with HR, operations, and project teams to improve financial processesIdentify opportunities for process improvements and system automationQualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required)CPA preferred (or in progress)Experience7+ years of accounting or finance experienceExperience with financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controlsExperience in construction, industrial services, oil & gas, or project-based industries preferredTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standardsExperience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage, SAP, Oracle, etc.)Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis toolsExperience working with financial integrationsKey CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesExcellent communication and leadership skillsStrategic thinking with strong operational awarenessCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experiencePerformance-based bonus potentialComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision401(k) with company matchPaid time off and company holidays About the CompanyHeadquartered in Houston, Texas, our company provides specialized industrial services supporting the energy, petrochemical, and industrial sectors across the United States.
