We are seeking a hands-on Director of Human Resources to lead day-to-day HR operations at the site level and drive execution across all core people functions. This role is ideal for an HR leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership, and turns business priorities into actionable HR plans with measurable results.

The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for the full spectrum of HR activities, including recruiting and staffing, talent management, employee relations, performance management, training and development, HR metrics, compliance, and people initiatives. This leader will work closely with site leadership to ensure HR strategies support operational goals while delivering a strong employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with site leadership to translate business priorities into clear HR action plans with defined owners, milestones, and measurable outcomes
  • Lead and execute the site talent management strategy, including progress tracking and timely completion of initiatives
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles, maintaining dashboards for openings, pipelines, interview activity, barriers, and expected fill dates
  • Develop and implement direct-hire hourly staffing strategies and temporary-to-full-time conversion plans to support workforce needs
  • Partner with hiring managers on sourcing strategies, interview timelines, candidate selection, and escalation planning for hard-to-fill roles
  • Oversee onboarding and orientation to ensure a consistent and effective new hire experience
  • Build and improve operator training processes, including training requirements, documentation, skills tracking, and coordination with Operations
  • Drive Individual Development Plans for senior leadership and other designated employees, including follow-up on development actions
  • Own the annual performance management process, including planning, communication, tracking, and execution
  • Coach leaders on performance management, corrective action, attendance, policy interpretation, and employee relations matters
  • Lead or support employee investigations and ensure timely, well-documented resolution of concerns
  • Monitor and report key HR metrics such as headcount, staffing mix, turnover, attendance, vacancies, and time-to-fill, and recommend corrective actions when needed
  • Prepare accurate HR reports and updates for staff meetings, leadership reviews, budget discussions, and other business forums
  • Conduct compensation and market analysis to support budgeting, retention, recruiting, and pay progression decisions
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, employment laws, regulations, and company requirements
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, retention, communication, benefits administration, leave management, personnel records, and HRIS accuracy
  • Maintain audit-ready HR documentation and oversee or develop HR support staff as needed
  • Support additional HR projects and initiatives as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of human resources experience, including at least 2 years in a management or senior generalist role
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required, with professional proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing both languages

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR
  • Experience in manufacturing or another high-volume production environment
  • Familiarity with HR systems such as Paychex, ADP, or Paycor
