About the Role



NOW HIRING: HR Specialist (Employee Benefits & Compensation). We're looking for an HR professional to serve as a principal advisor on employee benefits and entitlements, specializing in retirement counseling and benefits administration.



Responsibilities



  • Provide managers and employees with information and interpretations on employee benefits administration, procedures, and policies
  • Present at New Employee Orientation, host benefits seminars, and facilitate benefits webinars
  • Counsel employees who have qualified for retirement benefits including FERS/CSRS/CSRS Offset
  • Provide information to help employees make informed decisions and maximize gains from available benefits
  • Serve as principal advisor and recognized HR authority on employee benefits and entitlements



Qualifications



  • Experience managing employee retirement processes (determining eligibility, calculating service credit, reviewing retirement records, coordinating retirement actions)
  • Experience providing guidance to employees on benefits eligibility and enrollment (explaining plan options, processing enrollment changes, resolving benefits issues)



Required Skills



  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to interpret complex federal benefits regulations



Preferred Skills



  • Position: GS-0201-13
