FleishmanHillard, a global communications agency, has an immediate opening for a Senior Account Executive in our New York office. This hybrid role provides a fantastic opportunity for a passionate proactive communications professional with strong communications and earned media strategy to be a part of a collaborative team to work on exciting communications programs across leading, large clients.


As a key player on our team, you will have the opportunity to support a client-facing role where you’ll interact with earned media programs and influencer campaigns. Partnering closely with senior leadership, you'll drive earned media strategy and influencer relations while ensuring seamless project coordination across multiple client accounts. Leverage your knack for client relationship-building and meticulous organization in this highly visible role. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in executing best-in-class work and have both earned media and consumer influencer program management experience.

Responsibilities / Areas of Focus


  • Collaborate with managers to develop, present, and execute earned media strategies that advance client objectives and deliver measurable results.
  • Bring proactive media thinking and counsel to client programs, leveraging trends, cultural moments, and the evolving news cycle to identify timely opportunities and story angles.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists across consumer, lifestyle, multicultural, travel, food & beverage, while continually developing relationships with emerging voices and platforms including podcasts and Substacks.
  • Draft and refine high-quality client and media materials, including messaging, pitches, Q&As, briefing materials, media plans, and recaps.
  • Support and help lead media monitoring and coverage flagging, identifying relevant developments, and emerging narratives and providing appropriate context and recommendations to clients and internal teams.
  • Manage the workflow of AAEs and interns, providing clear direction, thoughtful counsel and feedback, and serving as a line of review for client deliverables.
  • Develop strong, trusted client relationships by being responsive, proactive, and solutions-oriented, anticipating needs and helping move workstreams forward.
  • Staff media events/engagements and client activations, including occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications


  • 3–5 years of public relations or communications experience, ideally supporting consumer brands and integrated consumer-facing campaigns.
  • Strong knowledge of the consumer media landscape, including lifestyle and entertainment media; experience with personal finance, travel, dining and hospitality media is a plus.
  • Demonstrated passion for media relations and relationship-building, with the ability to develop credible, lasting relationships with both media and clients.
  • Curiosity about and fluency in the evolving media landscape, including emerging journalists, newsletters, podcasts, Substacks, and other new platforms and formats.
  • Excellent writing, editing, verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively across media and client-facing materials.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, deadlines and workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong judgment and a solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to anticipate challenges, develop recommendations, take initiative, and know when to escalate or seek guidance.
  • A relentless commitment to high-quality work, with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally as client and business needs require.

  • The anticipated salary range for a Senior Account Executive position is $58,000- $82,000.


Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications and geography. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off and/or other benefits also are available.
