Summary:
The Training Specialist-Technical II is responsible for providing on-site training for service agents and/or FBD personnel on the installation and servicing of FBD equipment. This position is also responsible for the development, updating and preparation of training manuals used during training and for providing technical expertise for sales support to customers and service agents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains service training materials.
Train and certify service agents on the installation and servicing of FBD equipment.
Interface and provide technical expertise and assistance for customers, service agents, and distributors on technical concerns and troubleshooting of FBD equipment.
Provides technical support in the management of field tests and evaluations of new and innovative products.
Provides support and assistance with new and major equipment installations, both domestically and internationally.
Responsible for decision making in the field that identifies the customers and/or service agents concerns and assists in the development of the resolution.
Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
Minimum Qualifications - Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Electrical Technology or related field preferred.
Must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
Must have a valid Driver’s License and the EPA Universal Certification.
Experience using basic hand tools such as single-stage vacuum pumps, manifold gauges, leak detectors for HVAC refrigeration, fluke multimeters and AMP testers.
Must have mechanical and electrical skills.
Experience working with refrigeration systems and reading electrical diagrams.
Ability to deal with complaints regarding failing equipment.
Ability to mitigate customers’ emotions.
Proficient with refrigeration systems, and electrical diagrams.
Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Must be willing to travel 75% of the time.
Must have excellent communication skills because of daily contact with customers, service agents and visitors.
Must be able to pass a background check, drug test and a reference check.
Physical Demands:
Required to stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, balance, kneel, reach, have eye/hand/foot coordination, climb, crawl, and grasp, occasionally sit, and type.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
This position works in a typical office environment, manufacturing environment and at customers’ sites.
Ability to drive for extended periods of time throughout the day to travel to customer sites.
Clarity of vision including the ability to appropriately differentiate colors.
Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
