US Squash is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which serves as the only national governing body and membership organization for the sport in the United States. Founded in 1904 and headquartered in Philadelphia, it is a member of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, the Pan American Squash Federation and the World Squash Federation.
Position Summary
The Director of High Performance Operations is responsible for the operational delivery of US Squash’s high performance strategy. This role ensures that National Team programs, athlete services and international competition campaigns are executed with excellence, efficiency, and professionalism.
Working closely with the Ganek Family Head National Coach, the Director of High Performance Operations provides leadership across logistics, budgeting, compliance, athlete services coordination and performance systems to support podium-level outcomes at World Championships, the Pan American Games and other major international events sanctioned by the World Squash Federation, Pan Am Squash, the Professional Squash Association (PSA) and other NGBs.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
National Team & International Operations
Manage all logistical aspects of National Team competitions (World Junior/Senior Individual and Team Championships; Pan American Junior/Senior Championships and Games; British Junior Open [BJO]; Battle of the Border [BotB]) including selection of players; Entry process and liaison with organizing body; All travel and logistics including accommodations; Communication with families and players; Event budgeting
Coordinate team operations at World Championships, Pan American events, and other major competitions, assisting the Ganek Family Head Coach at events as necessary
Oversee visa processes, travel risk management and athlete documentation
Serve as on-site operations lead for designated international campaigns such as the BJO, BoTB and other international junior events
Administer the national team selection processes in collaboration with selection committees, including assisting to establish rigorous, bipartisan and transparent players’ and coaches’ selection criteria for all national team events
High Performance Program Delivery
Coordinate national team and pathway training camps, including National Squash Academy regional events
Support transition programming from junior to senior national squads
Scout junior athletes throughout the year at JCTs and junior tournaments and maintain relationships with the junior community (coaches, parents and players)
Manage the junior talent identification program and advise prospects on their development pathway which may include PSA; ensure prospects are kept current on National Team programs and requirements; attend JCTs and college matches where appropriate
Oversee athlete progression pathways from regional development to elite international competition (PSA Wildcards, college players and junior players)
Coordinate integrated athlete support services (S&C, physiotherapy, nutrition, psychology) ensuring invoices are submitted
Maintain accurate athlete records and documentation including monitoring prize money, finishing positions and rankings
Support athlete agreements and funding documentation, ensuring funding payments are submitted every month
Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with private coaches, academies and training centers
Liaise with international federations and event organizers
Support reporting to funding partners and the Board of Directors
Maintain clear and professional communication with athletes and families
Required Qualifications
Experience and detailed knowledge of junior squash and college squash in the U.S.
Strong understanding of the PSA tour and PSA rankings
Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Expertise with Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Level 3 Coaching Certification
