- [Instructor] Let's publish our blog to Netlify, but let's make sure we understand what publishing means and why Netlify provides benefits over Gitter pages. Well, we have a website. That website is actually a bunch of files, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, maybe even audio and video files. We also have lots of people who want to read and visit our website. That requires bandwidth. Each time our webpage is accessed, it uses some of the bandwidth of the service that we host the site on. But that's not how our website works. Our blog is actually built from Quarto documents in a GitHub repository. This is the workflow for GitHub pages supports. But what about if you wanted alternative branches to serve different user groups and to track errors during builds?
