𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱-𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗵𝘂𝗯. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀? SEBI is working on changes that could enable global fund-management activities to be carried out from India, as part of a broader effort to deepen India's capital markets and make them more attractive to global investors. For the financial industry, this is a significant development. But for investors, the more important question is: What changes when India's investment ecosystem becomes more globally connected? Potentially: 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀. 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀. But there is an important distinction: More investment opportunities don't automatically create better portfolios. In fact, they can make investment decisions more difficult. As the number of available strategies increases, investors need to become better at asking: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼? 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗮 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗜 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲? 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸? 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻? And most importantly: Does it move me closer to my financial objectives? At Merits Capital, we believe this is where wealth management creates real value. Not simply by giving investors access to more opportunities—but by helping them understand which opportunities deserve a place in their portfolio. Our approach starts with: 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵. 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. India's financial ecosystem is becoming increasingly connected to the global investment landscape. That could create significant opportunities over the coming years. But investors shouldn't measure progress by how many investment choices become available to them. They should measure it by whether those choices help them build better portfolios. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀. 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼𝘀. #MeritsCapital #WealthManagement #InvestorEducation #SEBI #GlobalInvesting #PortfolioConstruction #AssetAllocation #InvestmentStrategy #CapitalMarkets #GlobalCapital #LongTermInvesting

There was a time when the world looked at India for its 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭. Today, it looks at India for its 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬. 𝐼𝑛𝑑𝑖𝑎𝑛 𝑛𝑎𝑚𝑒𝑠 𝑠𝑖𝑡 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑’𝑠 𝑏𝑖𝑔𝑔𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑏𝑜𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑟𝑜𝑜𝑚𝑠. 𝐼𝑛𝑑𝑖𝑎𝑛 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑒 𝑔𝑙𝑜𝑏𝑎𝑙 𝑏𝑢𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑒𝑠. 𝐼𝑛𝑑𝑖𝑎𝑛 𝑑𝑒𝑐𝑖𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠 𝑖𝑛𝑓𝑙𝑢𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑘𝑒𝑡𝑠 𝑎𝑐𝑟𝑜𝑠𝑠 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠. But perhaps, this is where the story takes its most important turn: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐰𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝? Because a 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐭 at the table is powerful. But a 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 in the table changes the story. The next chapter of India’s global journey may not be about how far Indians can go. It may be about how much of the world Indians can participate in owning through Dhan with the trust of INDIA INX GLOBAL ACCESS (INDIAINXGA) (The Biggest Global Access Provider Platform in GIFT City to our B2B partners) and under the regulatory framework by IFSCA Official. Are Indian investors too focused on past returns and not enough on how those returns were actually generated? Anupam Gupta speaks with Vaibhav Agrawal, CIO – Alternates at Motilal Oswal Asset Management Company Ltd. about how investors should evaluate Indian equities, PMS, AIFs and new-age businesses in the current market. One particularly useful observation from the conversation: A PMS or investment strategy may show excellent historical performance but if a significant portion of those returns came from just one or two stocks, investors need to ask how repeatable that performance really is. The conversation goes much further. They discuss: - Performance chasing and why even sophisticated HNI investors fall into the trap - The red flags investors should examine before choosing a PMS or AIF - How to think about growth vs value when constructing a portfolio - Why traditional ROE, ROCE and earnings-based frameworks may not fully capture some new-age and quick-commerce businesses - India’s opportunities across EVs, renewable energy, EMS and capital markets - International investing and global portfolio exposure - Why India being “20 years behind China” in economic evolution could represent a significant growth runway - How a young investor can progress from SIPs and mutual funds to direct equities and eventually alternative investments Perhaps the most important takeaway is also the simplest: - Saying you are a long-term investor is easy. Staying invested through the journey is the difficult part. - What do you think is the bigger mistake today: chasing recent performance or exiting an investment strategy too quickly when it underperforms? ️ Watch the latest episode of Paisa Vaisa on Smart Up YouTube Channel #IndianMarkets #InvestmentManagement #PMS #AIF #WealthManagement https://lnkd.in/ds2XPAMt

Governor sir absolutely loved the in-depth analysis of FDI undertaken by Invest India which showed $60bn of fresh equity received in FY26 FDI inflow, had 50% split between institutional and non-institutional investors. Institutional Investors put money in existing Indian companies and non institutional investors set up shop in India in the form of manufacturing, GCC, R&D etc.
Nivruti Rai, MD & CEO, Invest India, along with the #ICube team of Invest India, met with Mr. Sanjay Malhotra, Governor, and Dr. Poonam Gupta Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), for a wide-ranging conversation on India's evolving FDI landscape and the outlook for foreign capital flows into the country. The discussion touched on the trajectory of FDI inflows, shifting global investor sentiment, and the opportunities shaping India's investment story. Both sides underlined the need for stronger coordination across the investment ecosystem to channel more sustainable foreign capital into India. The Governor reaffirmed the RBI's continued support to Invest India's efforts in attracting and facilitating FDI, underscoring a shared commitment to strengthening India's position among the world's leading investment destinations.
