Moderated a session yesterday on investing in Malaysia’s AI ecosystem at MDEC’s MDX, bringing together different perspectives on what it will take to turn the country’s growing AI capabilities into real economic value. The discussion featured Informed Solutions chief transformation officer (ASEAN) G Saravanan, HAVI global technology transformation director Daniela Ribeiro and K3 Ventures investment head Thea Tan, we discussed Malaysia's progress in building the foundations — from infrastructure and compute to talent and investment. The next challenge is translating these into stronger Malaysian companies, higher productivity, better jobs and solutions that can compete globally. Ultimately, infrastructure is only the beginning. What matters is how effectively we turn it into innovation, commercial opportunities and lasting value for Malaysia.
