“Prior to joining Agoda, I worked in management consulting and later at a small tech startup. I was looking for international experience in the tech industry, along with the opportunity to relocate and explore the world. Agoda offered the perfect blend of a global work environment, innovative projects, and the chance to travel throughout Asia. Agoda’s work environment is special because of its emphasis on innovation and data-driven decision-making. The culture is collaborative, and there’s a strong focus on personal learning. For my role, the ability to work on challenging projects with talented colleagues from around the world makes every day rewarding. Agoda also offers various employee benefits. My favorite one is definitely the Remote Work program. It allows me to work from anywhere in the world for up to 30 days each year, which is a fantastic perk. I’ve used it to visit my relatives and friends, and it’s made it much easier to stay connected with them while still staying productive at work. Bangkok is vibrant, dynamic, and very sunny. Its energy and cultural diversity are truly unique. Outside of work, I really enjoy spending time at Benchakitti Park in Bangkok—it’s a great place to relax and unwind on the weekends. I’ve also visited Khao Yai National Park, which is just a few hours’ drive from the city. It’s one of my favorite places to escape the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and enjoy some time in nature surrounded by greenery. I also love traveling to different parts of Thailand and Asia on holiday, discovering new places and experiencing the region's beauty and diversity.” - Yaroslav Drokin moved from France and the Netherlands to Bangkok in 2024. Hi Yaroslav Drokin I loved to read your story! It has been my dream to join Agoda, and your story is inspiring me to try again.
Congrats
Very inspiring! I have a similar professional background, primarily in telecommunications. At the same time, I am a highly enthusiastic and experienced traveler, having visited over 30 countries. I consistently manage my own travel planning and bookings, and I often assist friends and colleagues with theirs as well. I have been applying for roles at Agoda and similar platforms (mainly Booking.com) for the past 11 years without success. This led me to believe that the companies like Agoda primarily prioritizes candidates with direct experience in the tourism industry. It is encouraging to learn that this may not necessarily be the case. Maybe I should have focused mainly on Agoda rather than Booking.com. Anyways, I remain hopeful that, at some point, my application will be reviewed in detail by human, and I will have the opportunity to be considered for an interview.
