A sweet and meaningful weekend at Jogjakarta, joining the annual Asia-Pacific Conference of Human Genetics 2025. First time in Indonesia and it was splendid! Representing CARE Passport. As I am very new diving into this topic (Rare Disease & Children Congenital Anomalies); I am very lucky to have met people who are more senior and kind enough to share their understanding in this landscape. With Prof Gunadi Ph.D., Sp.BA., Subsp.D.A.(K) from Universitas Gadjah Mada who is very influential in shaping rare disease program development and awareness, leading this year's conference together with InaSHG Welcoming few fellow colleague from University of Malaya (CARE Passport's home based 😝 ) and so many more doctors, health-techpreneur and relevant association around Asia & Europe. 💡 Rare disease is not actually that rare.. In Indonesia itself, there are 12.5 mio case with over 80% being genetic.. Many countries around are nowadays supporting prevention of this, while few conversation with Indonesia's healthtech-preneur & doctors feel that our policy has not yet reach that level (for instance: finance is the main reason of ppl not doing preventive check, and it is rarely covered by basic insurance or BPJS) In memorandum of raising awareness, I also did my first 5k run for purpose.
