Sometimes, a good show idea starts with a simple question. When I first met Hank Green while interviewing at Complexly, I told him I saw him as the Internet’s Know-It-All — not in the pejorative sense, but in the way people instinctively look to him for answers. He laughed and told me how often creators and celebrities will corner him at events and just start firing off questions: science, culture, TikTok trends, existential dread — you name it. He said the questions people ask him always reveal something deeper about them. I asked if he’d ever recorded those conversations. He said no. That’s when the idea hit me💡⚡ A few weeks (and a job offer) later, I pitched Ask Hank Anything (AHA) — a new series where Hank sits down with creators and celebrities, and answers literally any question they throw at him. What emerges isn’t just information or another interview show — it’s curiosity in action. Personality-driven learning. And a fresh, creator-native format that invites audiences to think differently. Fast forward a year later, and we’re now 4 episodes into season 1 — and our latest episode with Ludwig just crossed 1 million views! We’re reaching new audiences and fans are leaning in. The response has reminded me of a simple truth: Be bold. Don't be afraid of trying something completely out there. There are more eyes than ever watching content on YouTube, so give them something new. The next chapter of the Creator economy is happening right now, new series by new series. Entire studios are being created from smart ideas, experimentation, engaging formats, and an understanding that audiences want to deeply relate to you’re content. And that’s what we’re building at Complexly. Couldn’t be prouder of the entire team behind Ask Hank Anything. Especially need to shout out Seth Radley, Hannah West and Chayton Whaley, without whom none of this would have been possible. Excited to start planning season 2 - we’re just getting started. I’m so proud of you sweetie. Keeping creative ideas along with execution along with pressure to produce and perform can be hard. You have kept the integrity and love of curiosity! Love you always ❤️

2wSo you're the man to thank for AHA Gabriel, I always love to see more about the people behind the veil of John and Hanks ventures. What really hits the ball out of the park is that H&J really care about what they do, and the difference they can make in the world, and its clear everyone behind the scenes care just as much. I hope one day to be as fortunate. Also, can I just say, LinkedIn needs more Hank & John, in all aspects. Not just regular old LinkedIn either #wierdlinkedin too!
