"Bariatric surgery can fail, medicines can fail, diets can fail. Only psychology matters."
Dr. Harpreet Singh Jolly, Director of GI Laparoscopic & Bariatric Surgery at Massh Prolife Hospitals, Ludhiana, has done over 80,000 surgeries in 25 years. His view is that obesity is as much a disease of the mind as of the body, and that counselling is the part most treatment plans skip.
When someone stops liking what they see in the mirror, they eat more, withdraw from people and pull away from their own family. Treat the weight without treating that, and the result rarely holds.

Actually, we are saying these days that obesity is a mind disease now. It's not a physical disease anymore. Further, I would like to say that it is a much, much more than just a physical disease. It is a multifactorial concept which has to be understood by most of the people so that the best he can be explained in the right way. People say, oh, you're suffering from Bay City, you should probably start doing some exercises, make diet plans. But one of the most emotional aspects that needs to be addressed is counseling when they see in the mirror. They they don't have love for themselves, correct? They say I am not good. So in that way or the way to they compensate in the different ways they try to take more food. They try to avoid the societies. They have different relationships with their families, they cut their relationships. There are so many ways they are trying to run away from the situations.
